The price for Walker Kessler is

The Utah Jazz reportedly want two first-round picks and a young player in exchange for Walker Kessler, per @jovanbuha

“I’ve just heard nothing but they want two picks plus a young player for Walker Kessler. So the Lakers cannot do that trade. They can give one pick and one young player and a swap.”

I don't think the Lakers have the assets. They offered something similar last season but ever since they got Doncic their draft picks aren't worth as much.

I don't think a team will offer what we are asking considering that he has to be extended. At that point he's probably worth about what Jakob Poeltl is - so a mid first, maybe some collection of additional, smaller assets (seconds, prospects, etc.).

Zero chance I would trade Kessler for a mid first.

I would rather keep him too, I am just saying his value is lower because of the looming extension. Very little chance we get a premium asset.

Usually good players get good extensions so that thinking doesn’t make sense… Someone has to pay him.

Yes, but a player in a 5 million dollar contract playing like a 25 million a year player is more valuable on the trade market than a player paid relative to their production.

Watching the Lakers summer league game. Hilarious to me they thought Dalton Knecht could be a key guy in a Kessler trade. He looks terrible without Bron and Luka feeding him.

I come in peace as a Laker fan. My offer is; Knecht, FRP and 2 pick swaps, if we can get away with 1 I'll do that first :).

The problem is that since you got Luka, your draft picks aren't worth as much as they used to. This offer is similar to what was reported the Lakers offered for Kessler previously.

From the Jazz's perspective, they'd have to use those picks to replace Kessler and hope they luck out and find someone as good.

And the Lakers just picked up Ayton so you don't really need Kessler anyway.

Utah can get 2 second rounders for him. He isnt better than sexton or Collins.

Then why didn't the Lakers or Laker fans come in asking about making deals for both of those guys? I'd put one first round pick higher than two of ten second round picks. WK is worth at least on pick in the teens and would be higher if still on his rookie deal. You offer a first for those other two players about every jazz fan would jump all over that offer. And it's not about his offence even tho he's top offence rebound and add top five in blocked shots. Ask jazz fan his offence has long ways to go but the rest of his game is great and won't be easy to trade with 5 Lakers first round picks because those picks will for sure be late picks for years to come. No only a NO for me but a Hell to the NO! :D

"B4 we got Luka" we wanted both Sexton and/or Collins in a Kessler packaged deal, with Ainge wanting Multiple firsts for Kessler a deal never progressed sadly. Many talks at least from what I was reading online (google it lol) were being made between the two teams, a reason why so many rumors going around what not.

After Luka, most if not all Laker fans still wanted Collins and/or Kessler or both again, sadly nothing happend and now we got Ayton, I don't see us/Lakers making offers for Kessler, Fans Yes, Team No.

Doubt Lakers willing to trade it all for Kessler now, but who knows anything can happen, I don't see Ainge willing to pay Kesslers next contract and expect him to trade both Lauri/Kessler when the time comes to it, again just stuff i've been reading and watching on youtube lols.

A line up of; Kessler/Ayton/Bron/Reaves/Luka ... Would be interesting

Have Kessler down below, Ayton mid to high post and other 3 around the 3 point line

I expect Ainge will sign Kessler to a long term deal. They are probably off on value right now and Ainge is telling him to go prove himself for the first part of the season so they can see if he is worth paying 25 million that I assume Kessler camp is asking for over the 18-20 that the Jazz are probably offering right now. My numbers may be off a little, but that’s what I assume is roughly what is happening at the moment. Utah is in no rush to sign Kessler long term yet.

With the Jazz prioritizing cap space in 2026, they may hold off on an extension simply because his cap hold is relatively small next offseason.

I suggested on Lakersboard, that Lakers might be better off waiting for 2026, b4 the offseason begun, as it or was the better offseason, haven't checked during the offseason yet lol. Lakers doing a 2 year window now instead it seems and waiting for 2027, Jokic/Giannis and who ever else, haven't seen 2027 FA, not a fan of this, but we'll see what happens, I'm sure if the right trade came along they would make it b4 then
