25-26 Trade Rumors

Post#1 » by AingesBurner » Thu Jul 10, 2025 1:12 am

Time for a new thread. This going to be an interesting year with the exception we have and other players.

I think we’ll see very little movement unless someone “overpays” for Lauri.

Expect SloMo to get moved though.

With the exception we have now who would be the player we take back? Is it getting a good player or a salary dump with assets type move? Curious what you guys think or if you have targeted a player you think would be the guy or type of guy we could get.

Cam Whitmore for two second-round picks is a trade I wish the Jazz had done instead of the Wizards.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I don't want Whitmore around Bailey, he has enough distractions and questionable people around him already......

C'mon Jazz, go get Giddy.......

Yeah, we definitely need another blackhole on this team.

So, you don't want him on the Jazz because he was cleared? There was no evidence he commited any crime.......

No, I don't want him on the Jazz because of the reasons I mentioned earlier. But the way your post was phrased made it impossible to resist bringing this stuff up. It was a perfect setup.

Whitmore is a selfish teammate...... Nothin suggests Giddey is....... Being investigated for a crime, when you did northing wrong, shouldn't be a consideration......

Like I said, that's not why I'm against it. It was just funny to read something in the vein of: 'we have enough questionable people around Bailey, so let's get the guy who was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with minor.'

I know he was cleared and I'm not holding it against him, I just thought it was funny.

Giddey is Temu Rubio… I’m alright. If we want Rubio then he is available.

I can see Nurk being moved at the deadline for dead salary.

The NBA should allow teams to trade dead cap for a player.

Giddey is 6'8 210 & shot 37.8% from three last year. Averaged
PTS 14.6. REB 8.1 AST 7.2 and improving. He is a good character guy who was fooled inside a club (21 and over) by a girl who looks older.
That **** has to stop. He is NOT temu Rubio, ridiculous.
He has positional size which Danny loves, is an elite playmaker and his defence and shooting is improving. He can switch on D and the Jazz have a need at the 1. Makes so much more sense than Kuminga.

I’m not opposed to Giddey but the stuff with the girl was a little more complicated than that. First, it couldn’t have been a true 21 and older club because he wasn’t 21, he’s only 22 right now and it happened in 2021. The didn’t press any charges because the girl and her family refused to cooperate. I think you can debate the ethics of a 19 yr old having a relationship with a high school junior but I don’t think it’s something to just gloss over either.

I'm regretting even bringing this stuff up. I just thought the phrasing in that post about not wanting more questionable people around Ace and then wanting Giddey was funny because of that past stuff. I really didn't mean for it to become the focal point of the conversation, it was merely meant as a joke.

As I said before, I'm against getting Giddey because:

1. He's asking for around $30M per season.
2. The Jazz have Collier and George, they just drafted WCJ, and they cleared the deck to give them playing time.
3. I see no reason to bring in players who can help win games when the Jazz are aiming for a tank.
4. Get the core pieces first, then start bringing in complementary pieces that cost $30M per season.

The extracurricular stuff is not part of the reasoning.

Actually, not a bad deal for both, if Nets decide to let Cam Thomas go.......

Obviously Brooklyn, they just drafted him top-10. If we want Demin it would probably need to happen after a bad year or two to start his career, or an overpay.
