The Jazz have waived KJ Martin and his $8 million non-guaranteed contract to get to the roster limit of 15 + 3 two-way deals.
Also, NBACentral reports that Walker Kessler will NOT sign a rookie-scale extension and will become a free agent next summer.
Another report on X indicated that the Jazz would not waive Kevin Love before training camp opens on Monday.

I always thought it would make sense to waive Martin but I'm surprised they waited this long. I hope he finds a good situation with his next team.
As for Kessler, not signing him now feels like a mistake, and a very Jazz-mistake at that, which could come back to bite them in the derriere like it did with Hayward.

It’s for cap reasons. I’m assuming Kessler wants the team to improve.

Sure, what free agent are we going to overpay in 2026? Which of our players are we going to get rid of to make space and create playing time for that free agent?

Mo Bamba, Jazz Agree To Deal
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/282033/Mo-Bamba-Jazz-Agree-To-DealNot sure why they would do that. Seems unnecessary unless they plan on trading Kessler or Nurkic.

It is unclear what kind of deal this is. Is it a training camp deal? A 2-way? Unguaranteed? One year minimum? etc. So it could still be nothing.

I would expect we are looking to move Nurkic and Love for 2nd round picks to a contender. Problem is with the east so wide open no one knows who the darkhorse contender is plus you never know with injuries.
I bet a team like Atlanta could be in the fold for Love and I could see a team like the Cavs or Knicks wanting a little more depth grabbing Nurkic. Who knows though.

According to spotrac, the Mo Bamba deal is a training camp contract--same deal with Matthew Murrell and Steven Crowl.

I am surprised Love appears to be staying. I think it will be great for the young players to have him around.

Having HOF guys like Love and Wade in the gym during camp certainly doesn't hurt the young guys' morale.

Kessler is going to get overpaid next summer imo. He could get moved during the season
