Bring up James Lang

Post#1 » by TexJazz » Sun Jan 6, 2008 6:25 am

Lang got 23 rebounds and 25 points in the Flash game tonight. The Jazz have been out rebounded 8 of the last 10 games so we need a guy who can rebound.

Is that the same James Lang that the Hornets drafted several years ago?

They mentioned during the game that he is too overweight and has eaten himself out of a contract.

Sounds like what they said after he was drafted by the Hornets, he ate himself into a bad back.

Hes been in camp twice and always to fat. You REALLY think he can rebound better than Collins and memo, let alone Paul and boozer? Yea freaking right.

Yeah, against those two I think Lang could do better. All thats required to do as much really is to A) Jump B) Try. Collins cant jump, neither can Memo, and Memo doesnt really put forth the effort to become a solid consistent rebounder. I guarantee you Lang, a D-Leaguer willing to put forth the effort and prove himself would outrebound Memo and Collins on the floor. What else he can bring to the table, I dont think much. But in terms of rebounding, you bringing up Collins and Memo as viable rebounders? Are you kidding me?

I can't tell if you're being serious. I really can't. How hard would it be to out jump or out hustle either of those two oafs? Half the time Memo moves like he just woke up. And I'm pretty sure there isn't a professional basketball player alive who can't out jump Jarron Collins. All you need to do is successfully achieve separation of your feet from the ground and you've done it.

Try exaggerating a little more why don't you?

There is a reason Lang can't make an nba team ya know.... Hes played on summer languages for HOW many years now? At least 2 for the jazz, maybe 3. If you're making fun of collins and okurs jumping ability try watching a guy whos's 50 pounds over weight.

I have. I've been to a couple Flash games this year and even at 50lbs overweight hes still got more elevation and is more of a physical rebounder than Collins and Memo.

Try watching him for yourself instead of basing all of your assumptions on the fact he's been in and out of summer league camps and he's overweight.

Seriously, can Collins even dunk?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I've watched the Flash games too their buddy. I'm basing my argument on him PLAY AGAINST NBA TALENT LIKE HE DOES IN SUMMER LEAGUE AND PRESEASON. Not D league scrubs like hes been playing against. He does not have more elevation than memo or collins, he really doesn't.

You are very much right on this. We are talking about Eddy Curry Lite. Tulsa didn't have much of a tall rebounding team either.

Okay, lets bring up the fat man, maybe we can lay him on the floor so no one can get in the lane.... Or, we could just stick with the players we have, who, by the way, are better than 3/4ths of all nba teams center position... My gripe on the rebounding is that guys don't box out, if they did that then the Jazz would be winning a lot more games.

I saw a guy 50 pounds overweight outjump Collins once. In fact, he was blocking Collins' fadeaway jumper and his name is Brian Scalabrine...

I think Collins dunked not too long ago. He is not a scorer though, and we are talking that we need a defender. Chill out with the meth.
