1st round matchup choice

If I had to choose a first round opponent it would be New Orleans. I'd really enjoy the face off of Deron vs. Paul.

Not saying that this would be the easiest matchup, I'm just saying I'd love to see this one.

I think the Jazz match up very well against New Orleans, on paper at least. We have yet to play them this year, so its tough to say.

Deron vs Paul is a push.
AK > Peja
Brew v Petersen is a push
Booz > West
Okur v Chandler - who knows? each guys strength is the other's weakness.
Jazz Bench >>> NO Bench

We actually beat NO on 11-23. We seem to match up very well against them, and Paul brings out the best in Deron.

I would LOVE to see a Utah vs. NO first round matchup. I think we always play them well and the matchups would be great. Like someone else mentioned, the head to head with Paul, always seems to bring out the best in Deron.

I think I might try to get tickets to the game on Monday now!

NO would be ideal, they are the best match up for the Jazz, plus their inexperience would be fun to play against. I would love to see Paul v. Williams on the national scene.

For that to happen however either the Spurs are going to have to start playing better or the Hornets would have to start playing a lot worse and fall to the 4 or 5 spot.

The Hornets would probably be the best matchup we could hope for, but I'd feel pretty comfortable playing the Suns or Mavericks as well. I'm actually more scared of the Lakers and Nuggets, if they're both at full health; they've given us some problems this year. As for the Spurs, they may not be doing well now, but come playoff time, I think they're still the team to beat and I definitely wouldn't want to play them in the first round.

I would love for the Jazz to play the Timberwolves or Sonics in the first round, heck make it the conference finals for that matter.

^^^Exactly what I was thinking. It would be more than great if we could get a series against Minnesotta.
