Maybe the BEST decision our front office made in the offseason?

If we had signed him, the make-up of this team could be very different right now and Brew Brew may not have gotten the minutes he has to develop. And on top of it, maybe a no no on the Korver trade.

I have been pretty outspoken on my general meh attitude towards KOC cause I usually feel most of his recent decisions have been no brainers (drafting Brew, Millsap and CJ, signing Booz, Okur) and at a point I thought his bad decisions outweighed the good (AK's, Gordan's, Arroyo's contracts, WANTING to draft Paul over Williams). I must say kudos for being patient, we're in A LOT better shape right now.

I dont know how obvious it was signing Boozer and Okur. Im sure nobody expected them to turn out as well as they had. Maybe Boozer though, but Okur was a find.

As were CJ Miles and Paul Millsap, Brewer was pretty obvious though. Thank god he didnt take Carney or Sefelosha.

Im also glad he didnt sign MoPete as it looks like down yr 3 and 4 that will be a bad signing.

How about KOC savy to sign Millsap to a 3yr deal? Millsap is the lowest paid player on our team.

Don't remember who was in what camp at the time, but I remember getting lambasted by several of the posters 'round here for suggesting that giving MoPete the full MLE was a bad idea........now it looks like a move of genius. Mo has dealt with at least minor struggles in NO (and some have said SEVERE struggles, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt here) while Ronnie Brewer has been golden for us as a starter, CJ has begun to emerge as a bona-fide NBA player and more than anything it allowed for the Korver addition, which I think we can ALL agree is a 100x better fit for our team than MoPete would have been.

I like Mo as a modest 3 year add in the 15-18 million dollar range, and I still feel that way....but giving him the full 5 years and 30m was a big time mistake, and we will all be glad for years to come that we passed.

Just another example of knee-jerk fans calling for a move for the sake of a move.

Best non move we ever made, and I was one that was pretty upset with it. Korver is great because he can shoot free throws too. We would have lost the Philly game at home if it wasn't for him. Plus you're right, developing Brewer is huge! He has the potential to be an obnoxious defender for years to come if he can develop it.

I was glad the Jazz didnt give Mo Pete the MLE. I think KOC made some smart decisions and I am pretty dang happy with our current 2 guard situation. A spot that has always been a weekness, isnt much of one anymore.

I was in the no trade camp myself, so I want to join the "I told ya so" group.

Korver is going to limit our cap space in the future, but I think he is worth it.

I kinda like Brewer and Korver now though. So, forget what I said.

I've never been so happy about being wrong.

I was definitely pro-Mo too. I didn't think Brewer would develop so quickly here, I didn't think CJ had any real future with this team, and I certainly didn't count on Billy King being fired and replaced by a more sensible GM in Philadelphia

I gotta admit that in the off-season I really wanted to sign on MoPete, but not I'm glad we didn't.

Would Utah have been in better shape had KOC drafted Paul over Williams

Having Miles, Brewer/Korver/Milsap/Harpring off the bench isn't entirely bad. In fact that's a better line up then the Hornets have right now...Shoot it's a better bench then half the league. So I guess the real answer is...we'll never know if it would have been "worse".

Besides all that... If Utah would have signed Peterson, Sloan would have quickly realized that his game is suspect and would have tried Brewer in his place...

Sometimes the best trades are the ones that are not made.

I keep hearing that Denver wants Ron Artest. Now that would surely make the Nuggs the bad boys of the nba. We all know how that would end up.
If I were O'Conner I would throw in a 2nd round pick to help denver get Ron Artest from Sacamento.

Uhhhhh....wtf is your point MJallday? In the first place, if we HAD signed Mo Pete, its highly unlikely that we would have traded for Korver, not only that, but now we would have Mo Pete's MLE deal on the books for the next 5 years, and re-signing Ronnie and Paul would be problematic at best.

And what does Chris Paul have to do with it? I'm beyond flabbergasted at what you're trying to say.

I was against it at half the price and longevity the Hornets went.

It's working out for both clubs, but the issue goes beyond just this campaign.
