Western Conference Rivals - who scares you the most?

Post#1 » by sendai91 » Wed Feb 6, 2008 7:36 pm

With all of the signings and trades of marquee players coming to the Western Conference, who scares you the most now?

Lakers - Kobe, Odom, Bynum, Gasol

Suns - Nash, Amare, Shaq, Bell & Hill

Spurs - Jazz long-time nemesis

Warriors - Baron, Webber, SJax, Ellis and Harrington

Rockets - Yao and McGrady

Mavericks - assuming they get Kidd?

Nuggets - assuming they get Cassell?

Blazers - they have our # this year and will be better next

Others?

Lakers sound the most dangerous right now, though apparently Bynum isn't coming along at all like they thought he would with his injury, if it is more serious then they thought I am not sure if they are any better now then they were pre Pau with a healty Bynum.

Otherwise the Jazz might be the best team in the West!

Every team out their the jazz seam to be able to beat, but the spurs. Until the Jazz get over that Hex it is the spurs who worry me most. I think the suns got weaker. Imagine now if the suns have an injury since shaq will be injured I could see a scenario where the suns dont make the playoffs with one or two go down for an extended periord of time.

It is a coin flip with all the western conteders. Who is going to get hot down the stretch maybe the key. Who will be the NY Giants of the NBA? Jazz can win it all or be out in round one.

To me it's still the Spurs. We've been able to beat them here at home, but we still can't beat them at their place. They are struggling a little bit right now but I have a feeling they'll be firing on all cylinders come playoff time.

Lakers by far. They played well against us BEFORE Gasol. I can only imagine it will be that much harder to beat them now.

it could very likely be an 80's throwback of the old lakers/celtics. I am def most afraid of the lakers.

Well, lakers didnt look to well tonight...

Its still the spurs for me, just because the rest of the rest really doesnt scare me that bad.

I was for the suns shaq trade, but thats potentially WAY WAY WAY more scary than the lakers with gasol.

Spurs probably, but the Lakers always kill us as Kobe BURNS us. Those two are the only teams I think will really give us a hard time in a 7 game series.

Damn you forgot the Hornets lol. I mean they don't make me scared, but still they have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA this year.

If the Jazz took the Hornets in a seven game series we would easialy sweep in four. The Hornets are no match for us.

Now that zebras are allowing a little bit less rebounding from behind and a little less flopping to the Spurs, I have the feeling that Jazz can compete with them in a series.
Some Jazz players (most notably Boozer...) seems to be scared about Lakers glamour or Nuggets "thuggism", so I think they are the worst matchup in a playoff series..

I think we'd probably loose one or two in New Orleans, but they honestly don't worry me much, ESPECIALLY if we have home court. If we were the first seed I'd really have no doubt in my mind that we were going to win the championship given our tremendous home record. There simply is no POWER HOUSE like the Jordan's Bulls, Shaq's Lakers, nor Duncan's Spurs.

Lakers have always scared me more. Sloan coaching against Phil in the playoffs? I dont think so... He gets owned.

Not to mention he has the modern Jordan, not to mention a solid big (gasol), something he never had with the Bulls, and is it fair to say Odom's game complements Kobe's just as Pippen's did w/ Jordan?

Stay the F*** away from the Lakers at playoff time. I'm telling you...

Kobe would want revenge for his early career playoff humiliation against Utah. He is already in Brewer's head who I hear apologizes to Kobe when he fouls him.

Return to Utah Jazz
