Jazz unlikely to make deal. (Playoff Roster Deadline)

According to SLTRIB.com the Jazz most likely won't make any deals before the deadline.

I don't meant to be rude, but that article is old, and the deadline was last week, and indeed the Jazz didn't trade anyone.

No offense but read the article first please. It is talking about being able to pick up a player that has been released and have them on your playoff roster. That day is March 1st.

I stand corrected, I thought I already had read that article.
To go back ontopic then. I am not sure why would the Jazz want to pick up anyone. The chemistry right now is running great, and the only position where we need help is with backup C. Even then, the 9 man rotation that we have I think is excellent, because with Okur on the floor, Millsap can play better, and Millsap's help defense helps Okur more than Boozer's No-Defense.
The only we need to keep improving is defense, this is a supreme offensive team that I have seen of any Sloan team in a very very long while. I mean it, even the bench.

We wouldnt add a player that would mess with the chemistry anyway, us not adding a player has more to do with LHM being a tight wad then us not wanting to mess with chemistry. I don't see the big deal of adding a D-League big and seeing what he can do in practice and let him audition in the RMR and see if he makes the roster next year. Having an extra practice body and insurance for the playoffs in case injury hits is never a bad idea.

The only feasible thing I can see is us picking up is Sam Cassell as an experienced back up to Deron. But i'm pretty happy with Price, and hoping Sloan doesn't demote him again.

We have a good roster as it is. We don't want to add a player that could potentially ruin the entire team.

Well seeing how badly they are playing on the road, against pathetic teams, I cant see how anyone would be satisfied that we stood pat.

To become our 4th string Center? Remember we still have Collins, Okur, and Fesenko and their contracts won't expire soon.

This makes no sense to me at all. Why would it be good to sign a D-League guy and have him sit behind the bench in a suit for the rest of the year and through the playoffs and chew up the rest of the salary space before they hit the luxury tax? This week O'Connor said the team has just over $1 mill left from their exceptions and were reserving that in case they end up picking somebody up. Signing a D-League guy to a contract for the rest of the year isn't going to make him more likely to audition in the RMR and try and make the roster. And signing a D-League guy who hasn't been with the team and knows what they are doing won't help in practice. Its not like they are holding many practices as they finish up the regular season and get into the playoffs--and any practices they do have would not be focusing on seeing what the new guy can do.

Who are they gonna sign by Saturday? Nobody. We arent going to hit the luxury tax because that player or even a veteran for that matter only makes a pro-rated amount of what they sign for. My point is it never hurts to have depth. I personally like Justin Williams a lot and I think he could be a really good back up C for the Jazz in the future. I would just as equally be happy with them recalling Fess (who may I add isnt doing crap in orem).
