to the 2006 draft, how happy is everyone that we DIDN'T have the oppurtunity to draft J.J. Redick and instead we ended up with Ronnie Brewer? i sure am, because i really thought that we would have drafted Redick if he would have still been on the board when we drafted.

I think the 2006 draft is one of the weakest in recent memory. Roy is the only All-Star this draft is likely to produce, with Aldridge and Gay probably being borderline All-Stars who might make an appearance, but are not on the same level as Roy IMO. Brewer and Millsap might be the next two best players in the draft. Besides Rondo, Farmar, and Gibson I can't think of many players who have made much of an impact. Sefelosha, Thomas and few others have made a little mark and show some potential but nothing really special for the most part.

I freaking CHEERED when they drafted Reddick. I was sooo happy he was off the board. I think I might have even went ot the Orlando board to thank them

If the Magic got Brewer, they never would have signed Lewis, that's how big of a deal that draft pick has turned out to be, with the way Turkoglu has been playing that past few years, having an athletic swing man would have changed their entire outlook, and the Jazz would still be looking for that defensive perimeter guy who can spread the floor when needed and do a comparable job on the scorers form other teams.

Brewer is special. Although I don't know what we would be saying today if we had Reddick, after couple of 40 point barrages...

Roy the only All-Star in the draft? Rudy Gay already has superior numbers to him, and is obviously the far better talent of the two. Not just that, but we're looking at Rondo as a future All-Star in the East, Marcus Williams as having a legit shot at stardom down the road....you should know that draft classes take a minimum of three years to evaluate. Who knows, maybe Hilton Armstrong busts out in a year or so and slowly works his way up to being an AS (no one in their right minds would have predicted an All-Star appearance for David West in his second year)....you just never know.

Personally, I think Roy, Gay, Aldridge, Brewer, Rondo and Sefolosha will all make at least one appearance, with Millsap, Foye, Thomas, Bargnani, Farmar and Lowry all having a solid shot sometime down the road. And that doesn't even account for the out-of-nowhere guy that rises from obscurity to become a star in the league.

This draft is short on the obvious, blue-chip, dominant prospect, but I think it will develop into a solid class when it's all said and done. Brewer is going to be an All-Star in this league. I see his career following a Josh Howard type growth curve. He is as talented as almost any wing in the league, he just needs experience and polish.......and yes, I'm damn happy we didn't go for Reddick. Of course, had we known that Korver was coming here, we never would have wanted him in the first place.

I'd definantly much rather have Brewer than Reddick

I wanted to draft Sene, and move CJ to the 2. I'm so glad we picked Brew.
