Utah State hoops

Post#1 » by TG13Returns » Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:46 pm

So I know this is a Utah Jazz message board, but I just wanted to give my props to the Aggies from Utah State. Some will argue that BYU is the best college team in Utah, but I think it's pretty safe to say that Dave Rose is a coward for not coming to Logan this year because even he himself knows that they would not walk away from the Spectrum with a W, where the Aggies went undefeated this year. That might also be the reason Rose wants to continue to rivalry next year, but only if its at the ESA where BYU could avoid playing in Logan for at least another year. Pansy...
Anyway, it's getting close to the Big Dance and I just think everyone should know that Jaycee Carroll and the Ags might be surprising some people come Tournament time. Oh, and good luck to BYU as well...

BYU>USU>Utah...plain and simple. BYU's home court>>>USU's homecourt.

Im first and foremost a BYU fan, but I really like the Aggies, but there is NO way they are the best team in the state.....sorry.

Jaycee Carroll is probably gonna end up in the D-league anyways... he is probably gonna get Plaisted if they were to face each other.

You are seriously my new favorite poster on RealGM. I don't really have a huge problem with BYU, but they are huge pussies for not coming down to the Spectrum like real men. I also have noticed how whenever they have a decent team in town they move it to the ESA so their 'lil "winning streak" doesn't end. I think that Jaycee will really show off in March Madness and really surprise some people, scouts and fans. Utah State is really underrated. I've watched as many games as I could this year, and even went out to the Boise State game with some friends, and it really seems like they fly under the radar and they enjoy doing so. I'm nearly convinced that they could pull out a win whenever they wanted to. GO AGGIES!!!

LMAO. BYU's home court greater than the Spectrum? What the hell are you smoking? You got any more?

I will agree with you that BYU is the better team though.

I agree with de2nd. BYU may have that long-ass home winning streak, but there's no way that they have a better homecourt. Even though USU has a much smaller venue than BYU we still have a higher attendance, and the crowd is insane. I've been to quite a few NCAA games in places like Kansas, Duke, and North Carolina, but nowhere is louder than Utah State. You walk out of there and that night when you're trying to get to sleep you hear a soft ringing in your ears. I do agree that BYU does have a loud crowd and a good fanbase and everything, but I couldn't disagree with stockholmsyndrome more.

You guys can disagree with me all you want, but for me, # of wins is the biggest factor in detrmining the strength of your home court.

Take ESA for example....we have the loudiest fan base and arena in the NBA, but would you still consider our home court advantage great if we were constantly losing at home??? NO....

Thats why Marriot Center > Spectrum. The Nations longest win streak is nothing to look down on, it goes to show how strong their home court advantage really is!!

Like I said, I like USU...one of their starters lived next door to me for a while until he transferred to USU....his mom still lives there, so as long as they arent playing the MIGHTY COUGARS (:) ) Then I will root for them!

Are you even serious Duiz? You're talking about the former UVSC UVU right? There's no way in the world that UVU could even rival Utah State or BYU, much less be 16 >'s than them.

I will give props to BYU, they are an excellent home team. But there is nothing comparable to the Spectrum...by far the most underrated sports venue in America!

?? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Do you even know what the Spectrum even is? One of the best home courts in the nation. The Aggies every year invite teams to come play them in it and nobody will come. Even BYU broke off contract negotiations between the two teams because they didn't want to play in the Spectrum. They wanted to play the games on a neutral court.

WTF? You make NO sense. You're argument is hilarious. You do realize that in all 4 years Jaycee Carroll played at USU, the aggies have lost a total of 4 games at the Spectrum don't you? You do realize BYU and Dave Rose broke off negotiations between the two teams because they didn't want to play in the spectrum. You're ESA argument is just flat out stupid. Consistently losing at home? Go look up the Aggies record in the Spectrum over the past oh.....8 years and get back to me on that.

Will somebody slap Duiz for me?

BYU is definitely the lamest institution of higher learning (if it even deserves to be called that) in the entire US. They are afraid to play basketball in little ole Logan.

Sorry I keep hating.

But who knows, hear BYU lost to UNLV this season, who not to USU who has a formidable home court.

Come on dude, I was just starting to like you, why the hate?

Seriously, the Spectrum has got to be top ten most underrated venues as TG13 said. The energy level there is absolutely amazing. I'm not even exagerating when I say that its probably about the equivalent of the ESA last year in the playoffs, if not louder. If anyone says that the Mariott Center is louder than the Spectrum, they haven't been to both of them. In BYU's credit, they do have an amazing home court record, but the crowd doesn't even compare to the Spectrum.
