I am actually one of those people who would hate to see Jerry go but the man is getting pretty old. This team we have right now is pretty close to a championship right now. How many seasons does Sloan have left in him? Im thinking maybe 2-3 yrs top.

Hard to speculate. He could be done this year or in 4 years, who knows.

I would not hate to see him go, not at all. I want a coach that is able to connect with and light a fire under his players, at least moreso than sloan. it's not like his absence would leave a gaping void; ty corbin, phil johnson and jeff hornacek could all potentially be great for the job.

I honestly think he's got 4 years left till he FINALLY leaves. I don't want it, but LHM is to much of a softie to ever fire Jerry.

The man has had 1 losing season under the jazz, how can you fire him?

He's got 3 more years and will resign.

Wouldn't that be funny if we didn't get a championship in the next three years so Jerry resigns and then we hit a three-peat.

That question requires the asking of another:
How many more years will Jerry Sloan be alive? That is how many he will coach the Jazz.

I think he will win a championship with the Jazz, and once he does it, he will retire, and he will die that summer. That is how I see it, not that I wish it, but I feel that he is only alive after so many of hard work just for a championship.

I seriously think he's incredibly under appreciated by Jazz fans. He might not do everything you wish he'd do. Sure he sticks to rotations like flies on (bleep), but like the poster said before, we only had one losing season, which was due to an injury riddled club. We went through rebuilding and we really went from Stockton/Malone to Deron/Boozer like flipping a light switch. Half the league is begging that a coach like Sloan lands on their laps, and Jazz fans frequently say to fire Sloan. I hope he continues to coach as long as he can do it at a high level.

I've been saying 2-3 more years for about 6 years now so what do I know.

I hope he coaches The Jazz for as much as he wants to.
He loves the game, he respects The Jazz organization and he's very thankful for the way The Jazz threat him and after all, he's a very good coach.
I have nothing, nothing but respect for Jerry Sloan. I admire his life and career, always playing hard, always demanding 100% for the team and for himself. Never asking for credit for the victories, and always the first one to blame himself for the loses.
I really admire him.
Regards,

He is closing his 21st year. I expect him to be Red Auberbach type of legendary without the rings.

I feel the same way, most of the time.
if it were up to me, he would coach this team forever, FOREVER.
im really scared to see what comes after the sloan era, so i try not to think about it.

No Sloan hater... good good. I told you Sloan haters that if you say anything bad about our mofo, that a puppy would die. Glad you obeyed.

He isn't feeble on the side lines. He is a working class guy who is a NBA coach, so I can't see him not working when he is able to. He is 65, almost 66. Hubie Brown is 10 years older than him. Jerry is only 3 years older than Phil Jackson. All I am saying is, Jerry haters, don't hold your breath.
