After I watched Gira play 25 plus minutes in the Suns vs. Boston game the other night, I posted on the Phoenix board about what they thought of Gordon.

So far all of the response has been very positive. He seems to have found a nice situation coming off their bench. Utah was just the wrong place for him, he fits in pretty well in Phoenix.

Personally, I never liked his game much, and always thought he seemed like kind of a prick.

I liked him before we got Boozer and Okur. Or maybe even one year earlier. He was pretty good for the Jazz that year. But, since then he's been a poor fit. He's at his best when he's scoring the ball, as the rest of his game is average at best. And if you're not asking him to score 18+ppg he's really just a slot filler until something better comes along.

I guess they like his scoring in Phoenix. He's above average in that ability I would say. If they utilize him as a scorer off the bench, I think he could have an effective role.

He is not a system player. That is why many of us said when he joined PHX that he would be a great fit.

I'm so glad to finally have his sorry ass out of Utah.

Girichuck definitley seems more comfortable in his own skin out in Phoenix. His D will always be suspect, but as long as he can come in and hit a few shots and spell Raja I think the Suns will be happy with him.

...but man, i couldn't be happier to see him out of SLC.

Jazz fans initially liked him after we traded for him. His resitance to meeting team needs caused the friction here.

I highly disagree.

... I was a big fan of Deshawn Stevenson and thought he had the skill set to be a quality player. Jazz brass just didn't have the patience to let him develop from a HS player. Now the story has been told, Deshawn is a great defender and a decent scorer would've been a much bigger asset than one Gordon Giricek.


... I'm crossing my fingers that the Front Office doesn't make the same mistake with CJ Miles. Obviously little different scenarios, we now have depth incase we lose him (Morris Almond) but I think we'll benefit from hanging on to CJ and letting his body catch up to his skills.

Giri is also back playing in a Euro style offense which benefits him greatly.

He is a great fit for the Suns and I am glad for him, I thought he was a cool guy off the floor in Utah, he just didn't do much to make the Jazz better.

Honestly though, all you have to do is listen to what KK is saying now to realize that Giri wasn't doing what he should have to make the Jazz better.

Korver has been saying he's never seen so many open jump shots since he's been in the league, he says he loves playing in the offense.

Giri could have done the same and used his jump shot as a real weapon, instead he wanted to drive the entire time and always ended up with the travel.

I remember how pissed I was when I heard that the Jazz had traded DeShawn. He was playing great ball at the time and it looked like he was finally getting it. I personally never liked Gira but he has some skills and could play a great role as a spark plug off the bench for a Phoenix (as he's now doing) or Golden State.

Letting Stevenson go was a BIG mistake, i wondered if they had some problems with the guy.

I don't think Stevenson is the kind of guy that could enjoy living in Utah. I liked him a lot as a player, but his off the court lifestyle probably wouldn't mesh well here. I doubt he would be happy.

Otherwise he would have been a good addition.
