... Just heard this on 1280.

couldnt find a link so i'm not sure of it's credibility. But good for him. He deserves a COY award before he retires.

We are talking about it in this thread:
http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=776973

(note- D-Will had 212 assists in March, and that is more than anyone has had in one month since Stockton in 1992, yet the NBA and ESPN both missed it)
Chris Paul was just named player of the month. In the announcement, it says:

Paul led the Hornets to an 11-4 mark, averaging 24.0 points, 13.3 assists and 2.67 steals. Paul collected at least 10 assists in 12 of the Hornets

On the NBA.com link it now says Steve Nash and Deron Williams. Obviously enough people made them aware of it that they changed it.

Congratz Sloan. This team is much much better than it was with Gordan and Phisher.

Well, I guess Sloan didn't do anything so egregious this month so as to not deserve the award, but I'm not sure he really did anything special to deserve it. That being said, he's had a very successful career, the team's doing pretty well and I guess it's nice to see him get some recognition, even if I don't always agree with his use of Harpring (overly used and misused), AK (underly used and misused) and C.J. (underly used).

Now lets get him a coach of the year and a championship so he can get his ass out of Utah!

About time for some recognition.

Sad about Deron though.

We actually had a sick record against playoff teams, and our only losses to non-playoff teams with the exception of the lakers.

Just like most years, Sloan really has no chance at his first coach of the year award. With so many good teams in the West, and Boston in the East, I don't think Sloan will even finish in the top 5 in COY voting. I believe that even Mo Cheeks in Philly will finish ahead of him.

Yeah NBA TV showed their list last night and Sloan wasn't even mentioned in the top ten.

... But we as fans seems to care more about that award that Sloan does. I would like to see him get the COY award, but I'd much rather send the old man off with a championship.

I swear they gotta give him a lifetime achievement award, cause it is pretty sad he hasn't won it. If Kobe wins it this year, then Sloan should it win it too.
