Just a thought. AK and a draft pick or maybe even Mo Almond in a sign and trade for Josh Smith?? Josh will be a free agent this summer and I think if he was in a winning situation with some discipline he'd be even better. Just a thought even though I love AK.

No chance the Hawks do that. The only reason they'd trade Smith is if they thought they couldn't afford him, so swapping him for a hugely expensive (and older) Kirilenko makes no sense for them. (Also, with Smith's raise his contract will be "BYC", a provision that makes him nearly impossibe to trade on his own. To keep a long story short, Atlanta would have to add more players/salary.)

I don't see why either the Jazz or the Hawks would do this.
Hawks love Smith and value him more than any other team in the league.
It's basically the same situation that the Jazz had with AK before he signed the max.
Smith will demand the max or close to it, so we won't be getting any cap relief. I might be wrong, but I don't think Smith is that much of an improvement over AK, if he is an improvement at all. Although a lot more athletic, he seems to have worst shot selection than AK and a lower basketball IQ and just like AK, he has ego problems.
I love having AK on the Jazz. What bugs me, and I believe everyone else, is his salary.
If the Jazz were trading for someone, I'd much rather have Battier. Good outside shot, good defense, reasonable salary and he wouldn't be taking shots away from Memo, Boozer and Deron.

Why do the Hawks do this? plus, Josh Smith has an ego... I wouldn't like him thinking he will be Top 5 coming in.

Why would ATL want AK when Josh is 10x better
