Does the PHX win really help us?
I understand that it puts us closer to SA, but it also keeps the Suns ahead of us for HCA. I kinda hoped the Spurs would win it, since I doubt we will overtake them anyway. What do you guys think?

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

PHX Win aginst SA still doesn't give them home court above us. We win tomarrow and we are tied and have the tie breaker vs PHX. I don't care if everyone says home court dosen't matter. That just what people say when they are not getting homecort.
The odds say the most of the time the home team wins game 7's and with the quality of teams in the playoffs we could see a few game 7's.
I for one want the Jazz to be playing at home. We may have won a game seven last year, but remember how close that game was?

The jazz play will determine if we get homecourt or not
Can we beat Dallas on the road is the question
It is gonna be a GREAT game tomorrow. The stakes couldn't be much higher...

If the Jazz continue their impressive play HC shouldn't be to big of a deal. Utah can win on the road in important games. Imagine stealing 1 or both games then going back to SLC with that. Almost better then homecourt. Because you could come out really off your game and then you blow one at home.

After looking at the standings and remaining games, I have worked out few scenarios that would have the Jazz getting homecourt... and even possibly the 1st seed. Its a long shot, but possible.
All of the things in this scenario must happen for the Jazz to get the 1st seed. A few of the losses are switchable, but I picked the most likely scenario in my mind if it were to happen. No matter what though, the Jazz must win their remaining games, or its a lost cause for the 1st seed. I am listing the teams, then their remaining games, the required result, then the final projected standings if all these things were to happen. Here it goes...
New Orleans Hornets
L @ Lakers
L @ Kings
W Clippers
L @ Mavs
Los Angeles Lakers
W @ Clippers
W Hornets
L Spurs
L Kings
San Antonio Spurs
W Sonics
W @ Lakers
L @ Kings
L Jazz
Phoenix Suns
W @ Rockets
L Warriors
W Blazers
Houston Rockets
L Suns
L @ Nuggets
L @ Jazz
W Clippers
Now, if all that happens AND the Jazz go undefeated these last 4 games, this is what the standings would look like:
1. Utah 56-26
2. N.O. 56-26
3. L.A. 55-27
4. PHX 55-27
5. S.A. 55-27
6. Hou 54-28
7. Dal 51-31
8. GS 51-31
Now obviously, a few of those losses can be switched around... like the PHX loss. But ya, all in all, this is the best we can hope for. Will it happen? Probably not... but all we need for homecourt in the first-round is at least one loss by the Suns and at least two losses by Houston. That is, assuming we win the rest of our games. Correct me if I am wrong.

Guys... we should be focusing in getting a higher seed and homecourt advantage. We know we are unstoppable when he play defense.
I agree. It is very unlikely the Jazz end up with homecourt advantage as the 4th seed. If the Jazz end up with a better record than the 5th seed then they will most likely end up tied record wise with another team thats ahead of them now. Since the Jazz have tiebreaks on most the teams it will be unlikely the Jazz take 4th with homecourt advantage. I think the Jazz will either play on the road the first round or take the 2nd or 3rd seed.
