Deron tonight

I was just wondering if Deron was really hurt that bad or if he was frustrated and just plain quit. He could have had a spat with Sloan or something. I really hope that he was hurt, because if the latter is true, then we have some major problems. Personally, I would think Deron isn't the kind of guy to quit, so I think he was really being rested for the playoffs, but why not even come to the bench?
What do you guys thing?

LOL, Deron would never quit, especially in a game like that. He may have been frustrated, but please, we've come this far for one game to set him off.

Deron was ineffective on both sides. I think that being related to injury was a valid argument. Though, I cannot say I am okay with it. Looking at the result, I would have preferred him to play bad because of frustration instead of injury.

Obviously his injury was affecting him. I haven't ever seen him get beat that bad on both defense and offense. He couldn't get into the lane at all, and Parker was going right past him whenever he wanted too.
Deron will be fine, 3 days of rest will serve him well and he'll be ready for Bobby Jackson this weekend.

Parker does that to everyone. Finley was getting right past his man. Gino was getting right past his man. Duncan was getting past his man.
The Jazz were just slow and either dumbfounded or scared.

You can't seriously be questioning him for not playing...
The game was over at the half and he was obviously limited. You wanted him to go back out there and aggravate it even more?
I know the Jazz would never say it -- but they can't be too upset they lost. HCA is nice, but Houston is ripe for a quick series. We'll bring our game when we see SA in the finals!

Sadly, I think they just sat him. Yes he was hurt, but I bet he could still play. They saw the first half and thought to themselves, do we REALLY want to play these guys in the first round?

just go back and watch the spill he took in Denver, then come back here and ask that question again.

How come he played the full Houston game? I honestly think that he just didn't want to risk further injury before the playoffs started.

Well I really don't think that he quit, I just think it is odd that he didn't even come back to the bench.

He didn't quit. It was just pointless for him to continue playing hurt in a lost cause.

My question is why didn't he at least return to the bench ?

Deron has played like a scared, pathetic bitch in the past, but last night was not such an occasion. You could tell he just didn't have great mobility; it was like watching Harp when he moved laterally.

If Williams was hurt then he shouldn't have played. If he played thru pain the season finale then he's just crazy. He should have rest. And coaching staff took the wrong choice if they allowed Williams to play.
Look what Popovich did with Ginobili, even whith playoffs seeding at stake: he sat him out three games and said something very simple: "We are better with a healthy Ginobili playing on the road than playing at home without him healthy". That's COMMON SENSE. And that's CONFIDENCE.
By playing a hurting Williams @Spurs, Jazz stated out loud that they are not confident on the road. Now if Williams is not 100% Jazz are doomed. I hope those good-for-nothing minutes played at SA don'e end up ruining Utah's postseason.
