shed some light on this karl malone scandal?

here's the thread on the general board. karl malone conceived a child with a 13 year old? actually, she would have been 12.

do you guys have the facts on this?

Here are the facts, Karl Malone doesn't have a great past. His upbringing wasn't great, and his decisions weren't great when he weas a young man.

Since then however Malone has been an outstanding citizen where ever he has gone, and has greatly improved every community he has been a part of since then. Donating large amounts of money and time to those around him to make their lives easier.

He was a jerk, now he is awesome, any more questions.

right, so are you guys saying this report is valid? i figured utah residents might have a better handle on the facts of this matter. its blowing up all over the realgm boards and malone is getting branded as a pedophile.

i hope this report is not true; but, if it is, i'm not sure that being good at basketball and donating money to charity is enough to excuse the impregnation and abandonment of a 12-year-old girl . . .

I disagree that he was only an ass as a young man. The article describes how Malone met this guy as an 18 yr old (only a few yrs ago) and still disowned him.

Banging a 12 yr old as a college sophomore is horrible.
Not acknowledging your 18 yr old son (as a mature 40'something) isn't quite as horrible, but it IS pretty ****.

Again, nobody said what Malone did was cool. And when he was 18 I am sure he made a lot of mistakes he wasn't proud of.

People also tend to ignore the fact that this kid didn't even come to Malone until 18 years later after he graduated high school.

And the only word we have on why Malone didn't get in trouble for it is that the girls family didn't call the police. Well two questions then, why didn't they call the police, and why didn't Malone meet the kid until 18 years later?

That is a lot of speculation in this story, and we are only hearing one side of it. I'm curious to hear more about it, but the truth is it was the past, and obviously both sides have been fine since then.

And again, with this 18 year old kid coming to him as he is going to into college as a promising young football player, what does he want Malone to do? If I was 18 and just first met my father I wouldn't expect him to start providing for me.

Wow, I didn't know Malone couldn't flirt with other guys wives when they are talking. God throw me in Jail right now, I am married and have flirted with like 15 girls in the past hour.

Jerk, or criminal?

I actually always liked Malone as a player, but even so, I think its a disservice to minimize such potential criminal behavior (assuming of course, the allegations are true).

What people also tend to ignore is that legal actions were taken and settled out of court. So who knows, Malone could easily have been supporting this kid with out us knowing about it.

Maybe Malone has paid child support for the kid, but did not want to develop any type of relationship with him.

Malone does'nt have a great past. Yes he was a jerk!
He was a great basketball player and has contibuted both money and time to the community. and is still a jerk when it comes to taking resposibility for unwed children, hell he did'nt even claim the boy of his twins for awhile.
Don't confuse being a sports hero with being a real life hero.
