Utah Jazz @ LA Lakers - Game 2

Post#1 » by JStockLivesOn » Tue May 6, 2008 9:03 am

The Utah Jazz are looking to sneak in like world-class assassins and drop the hammer on the Los Angeles Lakers where they least expect it -- on their home court in Game 2. The Lakers are on a desperate quest to rule the NBA world. This can mean only one thing...

Bond(s) and Crew

Deron Williams is: Bond #1
Image
Smooth, calm, and a little bit full of himself, he knows he's the man, but he doesn't tell you about it. He shows you what's what by getting **** done.

Ronnie Brewer is: Felix Leiter
Image
Bond's right-hand man, he won't be at the center of any explosions or unprotected sex, but he's always there, waiting to bail his pal out.

Andrei Kirilenko is: Valentin Zukozsky
Image
Bond shot him in the leg once (during last year's off-season), but both have something the other needs, so this self-centered, egocentric Russian is going to come to play.

Carlos Boozer is: Bond #5
Image
He talks a good game and his first outing was pretty badass, but kicking guys' heads in and looking cool doing it seems to bore him these days. He's sloppy and unfocused, but if he gets his head on straight, he'll take care of business.

Memo Okur is: Bond #2
Image
He's a little bit slow, a little bit sluggish, and he's not much to look at, but at the end of the day, his intensity proves effective. Sleep on this guy and you'll be sleeping with the fishes.

THE BENCH:

Paul Millsap is: Bond #6
Image
Young, ruthless, and looking to prove himself in a dog-eat-dog industry, he'll do whatever it takes to get the job done, whatever it costs him.

Matt Harpring is: Bond #4
Image
This guy doesn't have time to play games. He knows what he's good at, and he's going to keep on doing it 'till you're staring at the ceiling.

Kyle Korver is: Bond #3
Image
Don't count on this pretty boy to get his hands dirty. He's all finesse. But he's pretty good at getting a look at the target, and he can hit it from 20 feet out.

vs.

The Megalomaniacs

Derek Fisher is: Oddjob
Image
You may not think it likely, but he'll break your back when you least expect it. Or maybe he'll just swat at your legs.

Kobe Bryant is: Ernest Stavro Blofeld
Image
The leader of a famous and diabolical criminal organization, this man knows every trick in the book and he has the skills to use every one of them. More often than not, he has his way ("on AND off the court" - Bill Walton).

Lamar Odom is: Alec Trevelyan
Image
Versatile, reliable, and well-schooled, he'll pick you apart while you're busy with everyone else. It may not always look like it, but he'll quietly do you in.

Vladamir Radmanovic is: Boris Grishenko
Image
Awkward, annoying, and generally worthless, he can still hurt you if you leave him all alone and give him ample time to use his one and only skill.

Pau Gasol is: Franz Sanchez
Image
Part finesse and part power, he's at heart an opportunist. He can plow through you when he needs to, but he prefers to choose his spots and get the drop with a well-timed surge.

THE BENCH:

Ronny Turiaf is: Jaws
Image
No one claims his game is pretty. He's blunt, intense, and at times over-eager, but he's generally effective regardless.

Sasha Vujacic is: May Day
Image
Tireless as a machine, but difficult to look at, this hired assassin does his job with the utmost confidence.

Luke Walton is: Le Chiffre
Image
Cold, calculating, and brilliant, he makes up in skill and good sense what he lacks athletically.
Image
"Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter."

To me it's a do or die game 2. We aren't winning 4 of 5 games if we lose this one. FORGET ABOUT IT!

interesting game thread.. .have to say entertaining, props

I don't think you'd be getting this game, your best chance was game #1, there's a possibility if you guys win 3 & 4 @ home, especially big, you'll rattle the Lakers and steal game 5. Can't wait for Weds,

Impressive game thread.

For the Jazz to have a chance in the series I agree that this is a must win. This is not like Houston last year where we can come back from 0-2.

Keys to the game are the Jazz bench out-playing the Laker bench, and one or 2 Jazz players (Memo, Korver?) getting hot from the 3 point line.

If those things happen we should have a really good chance.

How do you figure if the Jazz can click in alt Lake for game 3 and 4 they can easily carry the momentum with them into LA for game 5 and then rap it up in utah for game 6. Believe.

Great thread! Wonderfully thought out.

Let's hope both teams bring their A games and put on a great show. Good luck Lakers, and GO JAZZ!

Nice Thread.

Jerry Sloan could be Q. Hopefully he'll have something in his bag of tricks.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

It will be a close first half, maybe tied or within a couple of points either way, then the Lakers will the blow the doors off near the end of the third quarter, and it will end as another double digit Laker victory.

i had this weird brief dream that in game 1 the jazz kept it close, got blown out, struggled back within a few points but then lost momentum in the end of the game.

still waiting for a revelation of game 2.

Awesome thread. Turiaf as Jaws is the best. I'm pretty sure they share the same dentist.

Seriously, I think the Jazz can go in there and get this one. LOL at the Laker fans who are so confident and knowledgeable that they know game 1 was our only chance. I fart in their general direction! Let's go in there "Bond style" and use stratagem to get this one! I want to see all the "beautiful people" of LA become even more disinterested than they already are in their beloved Lakers.

GO JAZZ!!!

Yeah, nobody asked you or cares about your opinion.

Oh, and replace Wade with Bryant, and your sig is even more accurate.

Buh bye now... :nonono:

Not a bad game thread for a Utah fan. j/k Best one I've seen yet!
I love it.

Good luck on tomorrows game, Lakers aren't going to be so easy on the boards this time.
