Calls out Stern and the refs for the officiating in this series.

Good God that is the most accurate article I think I've ever read concerning refs controlling a game. Major Kudos to the LA times having the balls to do that. I'm glad it was that obvious to someone in LA willing to tell it how it is.

Without even clicking on this link, I would bet everything I own that it was written by T.J. Simers.

Articles like this are useless. All he did was point out the the Jazz had more fouls, but didn't care to point out exactly which calls should not have been made. He talked about Boozer getting in foul trouble, find me one of the calls against him that was not legit. I've seen him push Lamar in the back a number of times in order to get an offensive rebound, and he has been getting called for it. I'm not a huge fan of how this series has been officiated in general though, the refs are calling a lot of touch fouls that should not be called in my opinion. It's not like the Lakers are not being called for fouls either, it was 30 to 20 in the foul department. But how many of those fouls came within the last minute of the game? I think about 5 or so, although I don't know the exact number. Lakers are being called for a lot of fouls away from the ball, or when the Jazz aren't in the act of shooting, the Jazz also had a number of and 1's which limited their free throw total, and as I pointed out fouled a number of times when the game was nearly over which inflated the free throw attempts for the Lakers. Over all though, I do think they need to lay off the whistles some, and let the players play.

Thats because by the fourth Q the game is out of reach and we are in foul trouble so we are trying hard not to foul, on top of the refs start calling the game for realsies because the Jazz have no chance to comeback.

I guess the fact the Jazz led the NBA in committing fouls during the season goes out the window and the LAKERS-CELTIC conspiracy theory gets the front seat. UTAH DOES NOT ROTATE, look at your flaws before you look at the REFS. THEY REACH, it's like sloan tells them "NO EASY LAYUPS" but he forgets to mention MOVE YOUR FEET!!! Lakers are taller and quicker thats why UTAH is committing fouls to make up for the speed but also because they cannot get rebounds over the longer lakers without pushing off in the back. Every boozer foul has been legit. However last game there was a couple of times DWill in my opinion got hacked, even in the first game, but they were not called. It doesnt mean there is a conspiracy, the Jazz do not play defense they just hack because they are trying to make up for speed and length. Just watch the games. The Lakers are the better team. They hustle on Defnese, they pass the ball around incredibly well outside the lane and inside, they have the best one-on-one player that can create if all else fails. They are the better team. And I guess the fact that while the Jazz do commit a lot of fouls they are also in the top of the league in taking fouls as well goes out the window? We receive fouls as much as we dish them out so it should even out, yet for some reason when we face the Lakers its not even at all.

That is a very good, accurate article. Think about it. What does David J. Stern want very most right now? A Lakers-Celtics Finals. What do the NBA refs want very most? To make Mr. Stern happy.

Case Closed? Because your team is down 0-2 and my team is up 2-0. So we won't agree. I do think that the Jazz should get to the line more and I think when the series moves to Utah you guys will get more calls going your way. I also think Boozer will get away with more pushing and calls away from the ball because the Jazz are at home. He is just not used to of getting called for them but he DOES DO IT ALOT! Also note, the Jazz guards really didn't start penetrating until about the 2nd half of the 2nd game. I don't think people should blame the refs because the lakers are driving hard to the hoop and are the taller, faster and more skilled team. Give credit to the better team. You will get the momentum calls at Home so no worries there. But a FOUL is A FOUL! STOP doing it.

Good Luck Though I know you guys are just rooting for your team but I just hate that the Lakers are always supposed to have some sort of favortism shown towards them by the league, people don't notice that they rebuild when they draft, they trade and spend money on coaches for a reason; They are dedicated to winning! It's not because of the REFS AND STERN! They lost the last 4 years because teams were better than them, why didn't Stern want a KOBE vs. SHAQ FINAL?

Theres only soo much the refs can do, the lakers have been borderline garbage the last few years. Kobe was the only thing keeping them afloat they arent going to give those bad laker teams free throws. The 2nd option was Odom and then who was the 3rd? Smush Parker? Or someone along those lines. The Lakers are a good team no doubt, but there damn near impossible to beat when they are getting the calls. As are most teams. If the Jazz even it up in utah 2-2 Game 5 better be more balanced and not this 2:1 ration in free throw attempts by the lakers.

Dude, The problem isn't that they are calling fouls. the problem is that they are only calling them on one end of the floor.

Are you watching the game? WTF are you suppose to do when KOBE blows by you? give him an open layup or make him earn it at the FT line, he's been blowing by his man a lot in this series. It didn't happen when the Lakers went to Denver, so I will withhold my judgement until after game 3. But, right now it is looking more and more like a double standard to me. How many times did Kobe go to the line in game 1 of this series, over 20 wasn't it?
