Come on Jazz fans, this series isn't over yet!
Whats with you guys. Everyone goin quiet cus we're down 0-2. It's far from over! I think that we still have a shot at this series, and these are my reasons why:
1. The first two (aka the games that caused us to be down 0-2), were in LA. They had HCA and now it's our turn. We all know deep down inside that LA isn't going to beat us in SLC. Best homecourt in the league, and it's gonna be LOUD for games 3 and 4. Imagine walking into a fireworks factory that just caught on fire. That's a good comparison.
2. We're figuring them out. It's been a slow process, but we're starting to figure them out and figuring out how to stop Kobe. I'm only assuming that Jerry keeps Matt Harpring on Kobe this game seeing how he did such a good job in the second quarter of game two, but if we keep Matt Harpring on Kobe I think that we're gonna be allright. Yes, Harpring may have doomed the Jazz with horrid shooting in game two, but how rare is it that he shoots that coldly? Also, Deron has figured out LA's defense and can get past them with a blindfold, if he could just guard Derek Fisher a little bit tighter there's some good points toward the Jazz.
3. The Jazz love pressure. We're have proven to be really good under pressure (like game 7 in the Rockets series last year), and with us playing LA down 0-2 with HCA for game three, I don't think you could possibly get more. The Jazz are not giving up on LA yet, and they're gonna hold strong till the end of the series.
4. This team is steadily getting better. I think that we looked better in games one and two of this series than we did in any game of the Rockets series, except for maybe game 6. We ARE getting better and will continue to, my only concern is that they won't do it quick enough. I can really see a strong Jazz team coming out on the court on Friday night and not taking any crap.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong on any of these (any Lakers fans who say anything along the lines of "you're wrong. were gonna sweep you" will be immediately reported to the mods).
Other than that, GO JAZZ!!!!!

This series reminds me of last season vs. the Rockets.
The Jazz were in both of the first two games in the fourth quarter, but just had enough bad possessions to not be able to win the games.
Then they came home for games 3 and 4 and took care of business just like I think they will here. I also think the Jazz will win game 6 and push this series to 7 games.
LA is good, but they aren't that good, I definitely don't think they are unbeatable.
The Jazz can still very much win this series.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Last year vs. the Rockets, we got down two and became huge underdogs and still won.
BTW, this thread was inspired by a Jazz board poster, can't exactly remember who it was, who made a thread exactly like this when all the Jazz fans were getting down about being 0-2 to the Rockets and woke them all up.

+1. On the Rockets series, we did actually have the lead for the most part of games 1 and 2, but still it's kinda the same situation. Bad execution and stupid turnovers down the stretch took us out of the game. I definitely believe we can go back to LA with the series tied. I'll be disappointed if we lose one of the games. I don't believe we will though. The Lakers are really good, but I honestly think we can beat them.

The Jazz just need to get a win to prove to themselves that they can win, and once that happens it's anyone series.

I've always been in the camp that didn't buy into the refs effecting the outcome of games or a playoff series.
But after the last 2 games I got a really bad taste in my mouth.
I have this feeling that the Lakers are the chosen ones and that they will play and beat the Bean Town boys in the finals.
The west finals will be a showdown between the MVP runner up and the MVP, the runner up will put up a hell of a fight but will loose in the end.
I'm thinking that the NBA should change it name to the WWENBA.

You're right, the series isn't over yet. But before the series even started, i thought the team to steal a game on the road first would win the series. The Lakers took care of their HC and protected it. Now all the pressure is on the Jazz; if they split in SLC, the series is done in 5 imo, if the Jazz win both, it's going to 7.

I don't want to see this go to 7 games. I seriously think the only way to do it is win 4 in a row here, which I don't think is impossible at all, but no way in hell ANYONE wins a game 7 in Sterntown, I mean Kobetown, I mean LA.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Your right ......... Please dont report me to the Mods.....
Seriously though , I wouldnt count the Jazz out so soon .
I think you guys do have a good squad and again like I posted before , we took care of our H.C.A and now we come to Utah .
And I think it will be a good series , but these 2 next games in your house is going to be the deciding factor .
If we take one of those games in your home then I think its going to be hard to beat us at home .
So we will see what happens tonight .

Ok, here's to hoping the Jazz coaching staff isn't reading this... (lol like I know alot) but Brewer or Harpring isn't your best bet @ stopping Kobe, Making Kobe play defense is your best bet.
Deron will be playing @ home, have the crowd rooting for the jazz. He'll have to have a big game. I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe slides over to defend Deron on occasion. If you tire him out, he won't have energy on both sides of the court. Leaving Gasol and Odom and co. to pick up the slack.
I've said it before, if Utah wins 3 & 4 @ home, then steals game 5, they have a great chance of making the Lakers doubt themselves, and Kobe trying to win it all himself. What makes it hard for your team is the Jazz have to win 4 out of 5 games, with the Lakers very motivated.

Exactly my thoughts.
These series arent over, but LA clearly has a big advantage now. Although its possible, I dont think The Jazz can win two games in LA in the case LA gets a W here in the next two games.
There is nothing else for The Jazz to do. They have to win both games now to have a chance.
I am sure they will do it

Regards.

No one said the series was over....well, no Jazz fan, anyway.
Its gone like I expected it to, with one exception, and that is the general tone of the games have had a "you can't touch us" overtone in favor of the Lakers. I expected LA to win both games, but not in such a commanding fashion.
The Jazz haven't looked like a team that knows its better (or as good as) than its opponent. That is a trademark of the Jazz, even in the series against MJs Bulls we had that quality about us. We had it last year against Houston, GS, and then even against the mighty Spurs we had it--though they did beat us down pretty good. The first two games in this series hasn't been the same, and I think its the reason for our slow starts.
Now, I'm willing to entertain the idea that we lose in as few as 5 games. I never would have given that a reasonable chance of happening before the series started. Its been disappointing to see, really, because we haven't been ourselves at all these playoffs, and you can only attribute that so much to what the opponent has done. At some point, you are what you are, and if you are solid enough in that, then another team shouldn't be able to force you out of it.
Right now, I only see about a 15% chance that the Jazz take this series. Before it started, I would have said 45%.
Either way, I'm positive that either game 3 or 4 will be an epic beat down. And when it happens, Laker fans should know that (to quote a favorite sports figure) "Oh, you gonna get tired of me....damn are you gonna be tired of me."
I am definitely pumped for tonight.

The good news is that the Jazz were reasonably close in two games where they played poorly.
The bad news is that they played poorly in two straight games.
If they lose one of the next two, I think it's over in five. If they win the next two I think they win it in seven. But they'll need to be firing on all cylinders; Boozer will have to take off his pantyhose and Memo will need to hit his shots.
