Do the Jazz still have the Knicks future 1st round pick? Or was that included in the Korver Trade? I cant remember if we gave them our pick or the Knicks pick?

New York's pick to Utah - top 22 protected
Utah's pick to Philly - ALSO top 22 protected
Scenario A - NY's pick in top 22, Utah's pick in top 22
Scenario B - NY's pick in top 22, Utah's pick 23 or lower
Scenario C - NY's pick 23 or lower, Utah's pick in top 22
Scenario D - NY's pick 23 or lower, Utah's pick 23 or lower
In Scenario A: New York keeps their pick, Utah keeps their pick, Philly gets nothing
In Scenario B: New York keeps their pick, Utah gets nothing, Philly gets Utah's pick
In Scenario C: New York gets nothing, Utah keeps their pick, Philly gets New York's pick
In Scenario D: New York gets nothing, Utah gets the worse pick, Philly gets the better pick
If either of Scenarios C or D happen, Utah has received a pick and Philly has received a pick and all debts are satisfied. Everyone keeps their own pick in 2010 no matter what, and Scenarios E and F (below) are not applicable.
If scenario B happens, Philly has received a pick and NY still owes Utah a pick. Utah would get their own AND New York's picks in 2010 no matter what, and Scenarios E and F (below) are not applicable.
If Scenario A happens, both Utah and Philly are still owed picks.
2010
New York's pick to Utah - unprotected
Utah's pick to Philly - top 15 protected
Scenario E - Utah's pick in top 15
Scenario F - Utah's pick #16 or lower
In Scenario E - New York gets nothing, Utah keeps BOTH picks, Philly gets nothing
In Scenario F - New York gets nothing, Utah gets better pick, Philly gets worse pick
So, to sum up: Philadelphia cannot possibly get New York's pick from us unless it's either
- #23 or lower in 2009
- #17 or lower in 2010
Under every other scenario, either New York keeps it (2009 only) or we do.

I understand people are probably tired of the thread. I didnt know for sure on the pick because its hard to find the link to it, but if your the Knicks its really starting to look like the Jazz are going to get a lottery pick out of this. If they are really looking to clear cap space to line themselves up at a shot to get Lebron and others. Then you would have to think that next season will be a year that they look to get off bad contracts if they can so the following season they can have a bunch of young guys with small contracts which in return will probably mean that they dont win many games. I dont care who have coaching this team, its going to be a few years before they are competitve and if the plan is to position themselves make a huge splash in free agency in 2010 then the Jazz are going to find themsleves very lucky landing a top 5 pick.

I don't think that the jazz really want to make a run at Lebron. They really just want to keep there guys. If they luck out along the way though I am sure that they would take a look at it. The Knicks pick should be a fairly good lottery pick.

Jazz have no chance at LeBron, that's ridiculous to even mention.
The Jazz are going to have to make little tweaks here and there, and maybe one more big move including AK or Boozer to get to contention level. Otherwise it's waiting on draft picks to develop.

maybe my message confused people. I was talking about the Knicks are positioning themselves to make a run at Lebron and others in 2010. The Jazz are not going after Lebron nor would he come here.
