We could do a lot worse than Hibbert. This guy at 7 foot 2 reminds me of Ostertag. I also wouldn't mind getting a 3rd PG if we can get rid of Hart, maybe a guy like Ty Lawson.

I've actually really started to warm up to Hibbert.

Even though he wasn't great in college, his system did nothing to help him, and honestly every team can use a guy his size. He's a very low risk, high reward type player at the end of the first round and he could be very useful on the defensive end.

I'm on the Hibbert bandwagon.

I think size is our biggest need.

Hibbert has a somewhat polished inside game, and at 7'2" could be just what we are looking for.

This is a 2 round mock, LMAO at us taking Trent Plaisted in the second round. I always thought the Jazz would love this white, stiff, Cougar.

Hibbert defintely fits the Jazz mold. He could definitely take Jarron Collins' minutes and maybe a little more. I worry though that drafting Hibbert stunts any development for Fesenko.

Personally, I think the Jazz will trade two of their three draft picks in some sort of player deal or for future picks. Unless they are sure they are going to lose CJ to free agency, I don't see them being all that interested in giving another rookie a guaranteed contract.

Hibbert is leaps and bounds ahead of Fess.

Fesenko is a project, we knew this when we traded for him... he's raw and has a lot of ability, but i still think he's a year or two away from being able to actually contribute.

Besides having two 7'2" guys on the bench wouldnt' hurt this squad one bit.

I like Robin Lopez too, but I'd be surprised if he was there when we drafted.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading the pick, but, if we're going to keep it, Hibbert would be my guy as well. The only problem, which has already been noted, is that he could hurt Fesenko's development. Hibbert is more polished than Fesenko and could help us more in the short term, but Fesenko is more athletic and easily has better potential, IMO. With Hibbert aboard, it would be hard for him to get a chance.

i would try to move up to 15-20 range to get koufos.

Yeah drafting stanford bigmen another twin no less has really helped us out.

Most mock drafts are still on bpa and not needs.

The only thing I disagree with you about is Fes's rawness, he's never going to have a Tim Duncan like advanced game so I figure as long as he can rebound, pass the ball and not take terrible shots he will benefit the team with his ability to clog the middle.

But you are right, having a 7'2 guy who has 4 years of high level competition under his belt like Hibbert does can benefit any team coming off the bench. His size alone will do wonders for the Jazz's defense.

He doesn't have to come in and scare anyone per say with huge blocked shots, his mass alone is enough to get in the way of easy shots at the hoop like teams have been getting.

Basically it would be like getting Ostertag back but with great hands and a good basketball IQ.

He is perfect for the Jazz in the wrong ways. Slow lateral quickness probally prone to reaching fouls on quicker big men. He is the black tag no doubt about it.

The guy can nail a pressure game winning 3.

couldn't agree more. Its sad to think that our back up center (milsap) is only 6'7". Ostertag, while being a 7'2" goof, just sat in the middle and would occasionally block or alter a shot. Which is just what this team needs.

Best case scenario we draft Hibbert and have him and Fess fight it out for back up minutes, worst case we draft a PG and have Fess as our back up.

Either option i'm fine with, Fess is a great talent, but on offense that dude is just lost in Sloans system. On D he's got everything we could ask for, he loves to block shots, and go hard at the boards
