Jazz are a very conservative organization so dont expect any big moves. Basically, they hope young team develops. Here are likely moves Jazz will make.
Draft: Likely Roy Hibbert back up center or forgein player to save roster spot or even trade away pick for future #1 and 2nd round pick again to save roster spot.
Let CJ Miles go bc of lack of opening at SG especially since Mo ALmond needs time next year. Bad idea but trading for Korver and his contract make it likely. Jazz should have never traded for Korver. Look for Miles to join Mavericks and become a good NBA player.
Not p/u option on Hart, his career is over.
Sign backup center free agent. Here are possibilities. I like Diop, he makes alot of sense.
Diop (ggod choice), Robert Swift (head case), Biedrens (too expensive), O'Bryant (he sucks), David Harrison (non-shot blocker), Magliore (Sucks), and Nenad Krstic (too expensive).
Jazz Roster 2008/2009
Pg Williams, Price, (2nd round pick)
Sg Brewer, Korver, Almond
C Memo, Diop, Hibbert, Fesenko
PF Boozer, Milsap, Collins
SF Ak-47, Harpring
55 wins, top 4 in west, championship only if Brewer or Almond develop into stud SG. Korver will never be more than a good bench player.
Likely Jazz off season moves
Moderators: Inigo Montoya, FJS

^Yes, he does. And unless he's a colossal idiot, he's going to exercise it and be with the team next year.
I disagree with the OP that we shouldn't have traded for Korver...he made a big difference with his FT shooting and put the brakes on our atrocious losing winter. I'd make that trade again in a heartbeat. I *do* agree that we will not keep both of Miles and Mo unless other moves are made.
I doubt we use BOTH our pick AND our FA money on young centres, too. Might as well trade Fesenko, then.

Unfortunately I think the only move the Jazz make involves a draft pick, and possible letting CJ Miles go.
CJ will likely get a decent offer somewhere and the Jazz won't match hoping that Almond is just as likely to produce at a high level as CJ. Then they draft Hibbert and go into next year hoping a combo of Hibbert and Fesenko at back up Center will provide us with enough defense to cover our terrible low post problems.
And actually now that I think about it I love that idea.
Unless something dynamite comes along, keep the pick, pick up Hibbert or Lopez and go into next season hoping either one of them or Fes is the answer.

There's still the possibility that AK gets traded, and if so i think that CJ stays and has a great year.
I'm not complaining about Korver. Of course he'll remain nothing more than a solid bench player. that's what we got him for.
and by the way, brewer is already a stud sg and will more than likely come back better next year...with an improved jumper.

I agree very little with that first post.
CJ stays unless Dallas throws 4+ mil at him, which i HIGHLY doubt... if so, good for him. NO one in their right minds wouldn't take a contract like that in your home town.
I agree we draft Hibbert, although i think a back up PG wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Not expecting a big time trade, but if it happens I think I would be rather excited. This team is good, but not great... anything KOC and LHM do this offseason will undoubtly make this team better... and if we come back with the same squad I have to say my hopes are high. One year older, back to back tough postseasons... thats only going to make us a better team.

My predictions
1- Deron Williams
2- Carlos Boozer (Jazz are too conservative to trade him)
3- Andrei Kirilenko (Jazz are too conservative to trade him)
4- Mehmet Okur
5- Ronnie Brewer
6- Matt Harpring (I see no reason the Jazz trade him)
7- Paul Millsap (I don't see the Jazz trading him)
8- Kyle Korver (I don't see the Jazz trading him)
9- Ronnie Price (I don't see the Jazz moving him)
10- Jarron Collins (last year of his contract)
11- Morris Almond (under contract)
12- Kyrylo Fesenko (under contract)
13- Veteran free agent PG - Brevin Knight perhaps?
14- Veteran big man. Someone that can waive a towel and bring a nice locker room presence. Optimistically a Diop or Kwame, but, I doubt that the Jazz throw more than vet min at this, so more like a Dale Davis or PJ Brown.
15 - 2nd round pick or open slot.
Who's gone?
CJ Miles (free agency)
Jason Hart (buyout)
1st round pick (playing overseas or pick traded) (edit 5-25: Now that I think about it, this will probably go to Philly to satisfy the Korver debt)

then westbrook, maybe speights?
Almond and our pick might get it done. Bird appears to like the kid and some what coveted him last year. It will depend on if the Pacers think there is much better talent at 11 then what they value Almond and the possible players at #23.
I just dont know that value wise that moving up to 11 would greatly improve the Jazz. Plus then you're talking about paying someone roughly a million dollars more per year by moving up. I realize you're saving money by moving Morris, but if you're getting similar value/playability that you would have received from the 23rd pick and Almond then it might not me the best move. That said if it was a draft day decision at the time of the 11th pick and someone like Eric Gordan, Love, DeAndre Jordan, or Bayless fell to 11 then I would make the trade. Then again if any of those players fall to 11 the Pacers might not want to move the pick.
All in all I don't know that at 11 we find an effective player who can step in from the offset and play at a effective rookie lvl we would need them to. It might be a more sound move sitting on our hands and drafting someone like Hibbert, B. Rush, Lopez, Spieghts, or even Lawson if he fell to us at 23. I feel that they might be better overall values then some of the players mentioned/predicted to go in the 11th slot.
Also trading the pick for a future 1st rnd'r might not be a bad move, or if the sixers want to exercise there option on the Korver trade, it might not be a bad idea to allow that. Not that we'd have much choice cause I think its only protected this year through the 20th pick.

Jason Hart was never on my list of dream moves, but it really was surprising how much he turned out to suck. Brevin Knight would be a great pickup, but I don't see him coming here for the minimum, which is what I'd want him for.
