The official "I want East to win championship" thr

Post#1 » by FJS » Thu May 22, 2008 10:44 am

I have to admit it. I can't stand Lakers. I can't stand Kobe. Pau Gasol is from my town Sant Boi, very near to Barcelona, but I don't care, I don't want them to win, because I hate Lakers, I hate Phil... I hate Jack Nicholson smile....
But then I hate the Spurs too (less than Lakers). I hate Bowen, Parker and Manu. And I hate the fact we can't beat them.
So I hope Spurs advancing to the finals and then Pistons or Boston win it all.

How many of you feel the same than me?
Somebody want west to win??

I don't want the Lakers or Celtics to win, muhc less make the NBA Finals. I wouldn't mind the Pistons winning again, but if the Spurs get the Celtics I'll pull for SA. I'm no KG fan.

Booo~o :wavefinger: I'm against it simply because I want the nba title to stay in the west where all the best and competitive teams are. ^^;

So I don't mind if the Spurs or the Lakers win it. :wizard:

1/ I'm rooting for the Spurs. They should be the model for the Utah Jazz , which is funny because Popovich said that his model was the Stockton to Malone Jazz.

2/ After that , it's the Celtics. KG is definitely not a clutch player but i'd be happy if he get a title.

3/ Detroit : I hate the Pistons' game. I found them really annoying to watch , but i hate the Lakers even more.

WOW .

Its that bad?
I think if you guys would have advanced as I have posted in the game thread , I would have hoped that you guys would have represented the West and hopefully would have won the title as well .

But Dang , so much for the love of the western conf .

Yep , i can't stand Kobe. Actually Kobe is not really the problem. The way he is perceived is the issue. Dude is completely overrated , overhyped.
For instance on ESPN.com they're having a poll right now :

Who is a better all time great ?

Kobe Bryant - 76 %

Tim Duncan - 24 %

This is absolutely PATHETIC. And that's the reason why i don't want the lakers to win , because i don't want to continue to hear such crap.

Kobe is overhyped and he stole the mvp title from Paul this year. He has been overhyped his whole career (all star as a sub with 14-15pts per game , what the **** ?) .

Completely disagree. Kobe deserved MVP. The only time I cringe is when he starts getting compared to MJ. Kobe is so easy to hate because he really is THAT GOOD. Hate on him all you want, but you can't deny you wish some jazz guys had his drive and killer instinct

Order of preference:

1) Detroit
2) San Antonio
3) LA
4) Boston

I just know that if we get a Boston/LA final, every single bit of coverage will be "Kobe vs. KG" ALL THE TIME.

Yep he wants the win and he plays on both end of the court and that's nice. Though i still think that if he is overhyped , he is also overrated because unlike most of the history greats he doesn't make his teammates better , and that's a fact.

Regarding the mvp , Chris Paul had the best statistical season of a Point guard EVER (yes better than Oscar Robertson or Magic Johnson !!) and to top it off he almost won one of the toughest conference in recent years despite the fact that AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON 80% OF EXPERTS THOUGHT THE HORNETS WOULDN'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS .

Not only was Paul better than Kobe individualy (a way better PER) , he was also way way better collectively , almost winning the conference with a team nobody was expecting in the playoffs !!

WOW , so Kobe stole the MVP from Paul , last time I checked they had voted for who deserves the MVP and Kobe basically took it by a landslide .
Also you think Kobe is overrated and overhyped ?

I agree with you , and props on your post .
I do think that comparing Kobe to M.J is wrong , I personally believe that noone will ever be compared to M.J , just like noone should be compared to Kobe or Stockton or Bird etc .

I can't stand neither Kobe nor Gasol, and I hate the Spurs even more. I hope the western finalist loses in a heartbreaker :)

I don't want east conf trolls jump all over general board and talk how great their teams are. I want to say - we lost to champs - so Detroit vs Lakers will be great with LA win (I hate them too). Spurs will be good too . I'm not in the bandwagon.

I'm all for a detroit wins.

I don't want Kobe to get a ring (everything will say he will be like MJ)
I don't want Duncan to get a 5 ring (everybody will have one more argument to say he is the best pf of alltime, better than Karl Malone)
I don't want Garnett to get a ring = KG 1 ring, Malone 0. It's not fair.

So If detroit wins there's no much difference.

San Antonio over Detroit! A big middle finger to all of America. I hope the average score is 82-76.
