Better Bigman: Robin Lopez or Roy Hibbert?

Which player would you want the jazz to choose if both were available at 23
Hibbert is bigger than Lopez but Lopez is more explosive
Hibbert has more offensive skill
both averaged around 2 blocks per game, 6 boards per game
so who would you rather have?

Hibbert simply because he was projected as a lottery pick last year and a center who can pretty much clog up the middle.

Lopez will be at best Anderson Varejao, Hibbert at best will be Illguaskas.
Both would be awesome for the Jazz, Hibbert is a better defender then Illgauskas also.
The hustle of Lopez would be great, the size of Hibbert would be great.

I will just kinda piggy back off of what Bat said.
I think Lopez is the better pick for what the Jazz need.
Hibbert is the safer pick and possible better fit.
Here is the problem in one way or another you want a change of pace from your starter to your bench guy.
Price brings speed
Korver shooting
Harpring strength
Millsap grit and hustle
and low and hold the one spot where you dont get anything better but Flops adn charges.
Hibbert will be better then Collins, but more of the same. Lopez brings energy and D.
As long as we get one or the other I am happy.

What if Fess comes back crazy good next year. Than what.
First and foremost . . . someone is going have to be traded without players coming back for me to see us keeping this pick. Too many dudes under contract.

Like that matters, the Jazz use that whole open roster spot excuse way to much. Lets be real LHM is a cheap ass. when have we ever signed one of these priority waiver guys? When has a big time buyout chosen to come here? If someone comes along then you trade, waive or buyout Hart. These guys in the 20s have great contracts and we cant afford to sign any bigs. Secondly we are in the stage where you have to develop your own big men.
I hope Fess does come back crazy, but we are still very thin and unathletic up front.
If we can trade AK for expirings then we can buy them out, but LHM doing that is highly unlikely.

Draft another potential Euro, like that Turk I see in some mocks. I don't know if he is the right guy, the scouts know who's out there more than me, but a low risk guy from Europe may just be the way.

I don't like Lopez for the sole reason that he is another Stanford twin thats the defensive minded of the two.

The fact is Fes is a better option then any big man that will be around in at the 23 spot this year.
Like everyone said, had Fes played any college ball and gotten the press that college players do he would have been a surefire lottery pick. He's huge, fast, athletic, and he hustles.
He's the best big man prospect the Jazz have had in at least 15 years, the only reason he fell so far was because there was a rumor that he had off the court issues which I've never heard anything more about and from what I've read this year everyone on the team loves him.
There is absolutely no reason for him not be the back up C next year with his size.

Last I checked Fes is still pretty raw offensively
It's going to take some time for him to be effective offensively in hte NBA
but I like Fes because plays true to his large size
he grabs offensive boards and plays tall defense.

Hibbert is what we need. For the 2nd round picks, draft a foreign prospect or trade the pick.

Lopez would just be another undersized big man, and Hibbert would be more of a shot altering force, thats why Hibbert gets my vote!
