Should Utah have been Champs in 1997-98?

Well i was reading a cnnsi.com article that proposed the same question... After the whole Fisher vs. Barry fiasco this week.

From the article http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/steve_aschburner/05/30/instant.replay/?eref=sircrc
While it was at it, the NBA announced that, yes, Michael Jordan did shove Utah's Bryon Russell in a clear offensive foul before he hit The Shot that produced The Pose in the 1998 Finals clincher in Salt Lake City.

Damn refs!! :nonono: :nonono:

Was that the series-deciding play? Seems to me that was game 6, not game 7 (so even if we'd won that game it would have guaranteed us nothing), and even so Stockton missed a shot after that that could have won the game. So no, despite the bad non-call, Utah "should" not have been champs in 1998.

utah should've had the chance to win game 7 and thus the finals.

It was a joke... I was bored. I know that wasn't the deciding factor in the championship, but it was the game winner... which led to Chicago' 4-2 defeat. That was a game Utah should've won, and who knows what would've happened in game 7

What pissed me off more was the Eisley 3 that was waived off and Harper's 2 that counted. It took me years to get over that series loss and I still think about it every day.

I wouldve liked to seen that called a foul because it would have been a plus for the jazz.

that said, im not a big fan of referees getting involved in the final moments of play, just eat ur whistle and let them play unless somenoe punches somebody right in the kidney. If it gets physical, then the stronger team will win and we will see our true champion.

The Jazz have gotten way too much crap about never winning a 'chip for being a bad call away from having their chance. Utah has been screwed by refs enough it's time for it to stop.
