Jazz Roster in 5 years

Post#1 » by bsutefan » Thu Jun 5, 2008 6:12 pm

What will the Jazz roster look like in 5 years?

My guess:

PG - DWill
SG - Almond
SF - Brewer
PF - Boozer
C - Okur

Bench:
Fesenko
Millsap

There will likely be our lottery pick from the Knicks in there somewhere.

5 years is way too long to guess.

D-Will is probably the only sure thing, I expect they will keep Okur around for a long time too.

I agree with fivas. 5 years is too far away to even think about. Try 2-3.

Who cares it is only a guessing game anyway.

Deron, Brewer, Okur, Korver, and Millsap will still be here.

Ak, Almond (will be on the team if he makes it past this offseason), and Boozer with other teams.

Fes out of the league.

Harpring and Collins retired.

I agree with you about Okur; I hope we keep him for a long time. The guy is responsible for a huge number of wins and comebacks in the clutch, and has been really working on his game adding some more stuff to it (very much unlike this other guy named Bo.... you know who I mean :banghead: )

Starting lineup in 5yrs:

Hart
CJ
Harpring
Milsap
Okur

DW, Boozer and AK are on different teams. AK is traded, boozer and DW sign with a team in a larger market (Warriors), then I finally get to see Boozer and DW play in person.

I would be shocked if Harpring can even walk on his knees in 5 years.

Hart and Harpring will be long gone out of the league in 5 years.

Deron Williams
Paul Milsap

Those are the only guarantees in 5 years.

I'm hoping:
Brewer
CJ
Almond
Fes

all stay.

But the rest of the roster could be gone either to FA or contract status.

Boozer will demand max money, Memo will get a pay increase when his contract runs up, AK wont be around with that contract.

... but this thread is pointless.

what would you think our roster would've looked like today, five years ago?

Arroyo
Giricek
Harpring
AK

Millsap is in no way a guarantee. In fact, I think he's one of the most likely guys to be dealt this offseason. H'e a great piece to throw in as an incentive to move a big contract or a nice player.

Bold.

I can see where you're coming from considering how many big contracts we currently have and the fact that Brewer basically played himself into a top priority (along with D-Will) to resign first and foremost.

I still think Millsap has a lot of room to grow and the way he plays in his limited minutes shows that he's fully capable of being the "man" off the bench for us for the foreseeable future, but I can see some team throwing him a contract that we could simply not match.

Teams dont just trade the 2nd round gems they find only two years later. I mean if it meant brining in a STUD then maybe, but I hightly doubt we move Milsap or include him in any move we make. Milsap has starting ability, but as long as Boozer is here he wont.
