As a contender without the right pieces to get over the top, the Jazz are in a similar boat as the Pistons. Could this swap help both teams?

Interesting, though I'm pretty sure the Jazz would pass. It leaves us REALLY thin up front.

We would still have Ak, Milsap, Okur, and draft up front plus it clears up a roster spot to go after a journeyman.

I just don't like getting that old, but it looks fair from both ends.

The Jazz instantly become one of the best defensive teams in the league with Deron, Rip, Prince and AK running around, could certainly help in that department.

There isn't a ton of inside scoring so AK and Millsap would have a lot of work to do, but the Jazz would be a great shooting team, with good defense, and pretty solid rebounding still.

I do believe it would make the Jazz a legit contender if AK could show some of what he used to do.

Is this an idea of his or an actual rumor?

He did it before boozer got here and did a decent job at it.

The Jazz were a very solid defensive team when AK was the man in 03-04. The Jazz won many low scoring games that year simply by playing tough defense, rebounding the ball, and getting opportunistic scoring.

This team could play the same defense with much better offense.

And I forgot Korver when I made my list earlier, I added him now.

That would be the softest front line in the NBA, but interestingly long and athletic with Prince and Kirilenko side by side.

If they could rearrange Brewer, and instead include one of our other log-jams at 3 and 4, I could see serious consideration going this way.

This trade makes us older...way older.

But have to think we'd be very effective with RIP and Prince.... may not have the same ability to run the PnR but i'm sure we could adapt.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. I think Prince is one of the most underrated players in the league, and we would have great length with him next to AK. I'm pretty sure that Prince has not missed a game in his entire NBA career, his durability is impressive.

Tayshawn and Rip would bring us toughness, defense, and an abundance of playoff and championship experience.

Awfully big trade that still doesn't solve our interior defence problems. It is interesting, I'll give it that.

That is only assuming the Jazz are able to move both of their second rounders to get higher in the second round to get any decent PG.

Chalmers was just a name I put out there.

Have to say we go from a fairly young team, to a team with plenty of playoff experience... Losing Brewer and Almond hurts, but free's up time for CJ to get solid minutes.

I'd love to trade our 2 2nds for a late 1st, but hard to think it'll happen.

Ak was at his best defensively when he was playing down low in the paint. IT wouldn't solve it but I think it would help it.

Yes! this is the trade I have wanted, finally we could have Prince and AK on the same team. The two stick men in the league on the same team. Seriously, other than my fascination with seeing how this proposed team would play, I think we would lose too much youth and inside scoring.

Bring AK back in the paint would make him the favorite for DPOY honestly, especially with Prince next to him. AK would have free reign again to own the paint with help side blocks which is what made him so valuable 3 years ago.

It would really make the Jazz an extremely fun team to watch, and I can't imagine a Deron/Rip back court, and a AK/Prince front court with Memo draining shots from everywhere.

Thats good to hear. I couldn't remember AK's defense then on the 4's.
