Jazz Rumors
I doubt Jazz do anything but heres a site that has several Jazz Rumors from Maggette to Gordon. I doubt Jazz have anything Bulls wants that Jazz willing to give up for Gordon. I also dont think Gordon and Sloan could co-exist as he is sort of a chucker. At least this link, it is an interesting read.

Re: Jazz Rumors
I was going to say this in the other thread but oh well...
This is why I hate Utah media, they take a small rumor from another site and run with it and act like not only is it their own rumor they uncovered but in fact that it is true. Desnews.com referenced this article at the very bottom of one of their own like it was nothing and now today 1280 am has a huge hour long segment about this trade.

Re: Jazz Rumors
The Jazz must be prepared to move one of their wing players. Otherwise why are they looking at Magette, Posey or possibly Gordon, with the full roster that they have? Of those three, only Gordon is a real upgrade, depending on what you think of Magette vs. Brewer. I wonder if the Jazz have a deal on the table to move Kiri or Brewer to bring back a big.

The Jazz join the other list of teams to miss out on Maggette--he is going to Golden State with all their Baron Davis cap space.

Re: Jazz Rumors
I'm guessing that they are expecting CJ to sign an offer sheet from a team like the Pistons and let him go. Right now they have 15 players for 15 roster spots. They need to clear some of that logjam at the two and in a hurry. Maggette would have been a massive upgrade at the two but was never going to happen. Let's face facts. The Jazz are going to field this team next season, with possibly Kofous on the bench, perhaps in Ogden. I fully expect Morris Almond and Fesenko will also spend a majority of the next year in the D-League as well. We will compete once again with the rest of the west and once again we will not have enough to get us past teams like SA/PHX/LAL... The Jazz are right now in content mode and doing absolutely nothing to improve.

yep, this is my biggest fear concerning the Jazz. I firmly believe that they would like to win a championship, but they are not going to jeopardize their place in the upper mediocrity to do anything about it. As constructed, the Jazz will always be a solid team but never a championship contender. For Larry Miller I guess that's good enough.

Re: Jazz Rumors
The Jazz are, as constructed, a championship contender. What about our performance the last two seasons makes you question that?
Kevin is no doubt exploring every trade and FA possibility out there, but we shouldn't make a move just to say we made a move and we're "serious," as some on here would like to see. Just because we don't make a move doesn't mean we didn't thoroughly explore what was out there. Sometimes there just aren't any good moves to be made.

Re: Jazz Rumors
Reminds me of last year with the Brewer/Mo Pete situation.
Everyone on this board wanted Mo Pete thinking he was the future and the missing piece.
Then last year he sucked his way to crap stats, poor defense and a bad contract while the Jazz have their SG of the future in Brewer who was great last season.
Developing talent helps, I expect CJ/Brewer/Millsap/Almond/Koufos to all be a lot better next year.

Re: Jazz Rumors
See, its exactly that short-sighted, sensational stupidity that gets me riled up. The Jazz were--based upon the regular season--as good a team as there was in the league with the exception of the Boston Celtics. In the playoffs we played the eventual conference champion and stood toe-to-toe, even with our best interior player in the midst of the worst slump of his career. If not for some bad calls at the end of game 5, we easily could have been the team moving on in that round. This same LA team moved on and POUNDED San Antonio in the next round in just 5 games.
I don't know how you can call a team that performs at that level for 2 straight years a non-contending team. Especially when that team was also one of the 5 youngest teams in the league, and has a TON of room from growth from within. It just **** ing blows my mind.

Re: Jazz Rumors
I am fine with Boozer's slump that happens.
The problem I have with him is that he didn't even look like he wanted to try on defense. I am okay with him not being average at it, if he atleast tried. He looked more like a matador and made Gasol & Odom look incredible out there. They would just blow by him.
If we are going to trade him, now would probably be the best time. Buy low - sell high. Yeah, he will opt out for sure but is he going to stay? I don't think that Boozer even knows what will happen. Can we risk having a, as you put it, top-20 player walk away without us getting anything in return?

Re: Jazz Rumors
I don't think Boozer puts any effort into his defense either. It's sheer laziness, not a lack of capacity, and it frustrates me to no end. But I have no desire to trade him unless it's the perfect situation. I'm not convinced he would walk away from a contender that can offer him the most money, the most years, and the best system for his game... not to mention the friendships he's forged with his teammates.
The only logical reason for Boozer to walk, in my opinion, would be if he were dead-set on finding a better climate for his daughter.

It's all about what his wife wants.
I don't think we should trade him for scraps, either. If the deal is right and will make us a better team... sure go for it. Don't do it, just to do it.
