How is this going to affect whether or not Cj will be back with us next year?

Why would he?

He's not under contract. He could have a career ending injury.

He has over $1 million offer on the table from the Jazz (I believe 1.2mil). He should accept the pay raise and be ready for the RMR without the excuse of no contract. He has an offer just hasn't accepted it.

He's a third year player and, if I'm not mistaken, a third year player can't play in the RMR if they already have a contract. The only reason CJ would play is if he was fighting for one, and the Jazz have already offered the QO.

Wow, is this SL Tribune writer really considered an expert?

First, CJ played mostly SF for the Jazz during the season. That's the reason why the Jazz will sign CJ regardless of whether he plays in the RMR. They need him to back up AK. Harpring, the current back up, is on the decline and will likely be out of the NBA in the next 3 years if not sooner. Not to mention that CJ is only 21! The only way the Jazz don't bring him back is if they find sign somebody better to replace him or CJ gets a ridiculous offer that the Jazz will not match.

Second, if there is such insurance for players against career ending injuries but is only cost effective for players in the highest tax bracket, doesn't that explain why CJ will not get it such insurance and play?

Lastly, I'm not going to go into the validity of the possible tampering allegation. But come on man, we live in a world where rules say how things "SHOULD" be done, but not necessarily how things really "ARE" done! To make such a statement concerning a player's potential violation without real proof and at the end of an article is really unprofessional.

again, like last year, not showing his efforts during the summer will decrease his market stock. Not so bad for the Jazz, however, we can have his services for the next year for a reasonable price. NBA's full of talented swingmen, willingness to improve makes the difference.
