Center Marcus Camby made it known on Wednesday that he felt insulted by the trade that sent him from the Nuggets to the Clippers on Tuesday, according to The Rocky Mountain News.
"Blindsided, distraught, disrespected. All those adjectives. I definitely feel insulted," he said in a telephone interview.
Denver moved Camby to Los Angeles without getting anything in return, allowing them to cut roughly $10 million from their cap number.
"When I first heard about the trade, I felt like I was the scapegoat after all our past first-round exits and failures and lack of defense," Camby said. "I felt it was them telling me that I was no longer wanted, and I was the cause of everything that went wrong the last couple years on this team."
"I'm still in disbelief. I'm still in shock. I still can't believe this happened."
Man up, you pussy. Or do you need a stipend for that too?

Wouldn't you feel a little "insulted"??
I mean they just basically gave him away to a team that has made it perfectly clear they do not have him in their long term plans and are going to be players in the 2010 FA market.
I'd feel pretty awful if the team I was a part of for so long, gave me away for peanuts.

Business as usual. Can't blame Denver, they don't owe Camby anything, he's not getting any younger or any healthier. I'm sure he'll be fine when he remembers the 10 mill he took from the Nugs last years, I agree, man up...

From the Nuggets perspective (assumed): At $10M per year we aren't winning in the playoffs. When you consider that we will be paying him once and the league once for his salary it is really expensive.

Even IM insulted by this trade. As much as people think camby is overrated, he is still a great player far more worth than a 2nd round pick. If you thought the nuggets were a bad defensive team, wait til November.
Then again, this is the NBA, its a business. Shut up and play basketball.

I just think that it is funny that the Nugs basically give away their third best player, who far and away is actually the most efficient player on the team.
I wonder if the Nugs offered the same terms but tried unloading Kenyon Martin first, Nene second and then eventually offered Camby. Hell, Camby even had the best contract from those guys.
I guess if I was Camby there are pros and cons. Cons — you are made a laughingstock around the league, worth only the option of switching 2nd round draft position. Pros — still cashing your huge NBA cheque, living in LaLa land and no longer having to play with Martin, Crymelo, JR Smith and Iverson.

Look at it from Camby's perspective, lets say you worked for a company and they gave you away for a stapler and some paperclips, it is going to be a hit to the ol' ego.

Yeah, I agree with this. Imagine working for an organization for a number of years (and performing pretty well, contributing regularly), and then one day you find out that given the choice between you and absolutely nothing, the organization would rather have absolutely nothing. Yes it's a business, and people get traded all the time, but that's got to sting a little.

Couldn't Denver have traded him at least to the East? He's still a beast whether overrated or not. Why trade him to the Clips (a fringe playoff team now)? I just think the entire Nugget organization is crap, along with most of its fans

*squeezes his eyes shut and puts himself in Camby's situation*
Okay. My team didn't want me. In fact, they traded me for very little. Man, that does su -- oh wait, I'm still getting paid TEN MILLION DOLLARS! I guess I'll buy a new mansion.
Seriously, people... trying to apply this to our own lower-middle class to upper-middle class lives is silly and pointless. If you're getting dropped in favor of staples and paper clips, your salary isn't going to be guaranteed by someone else.
This isn't just one "stunned" reaction either. His whining has continued each time he's had the opportunity to speak publicly.
Not to mention, he's always been a whiny pussy.
I mean, we're talking about a guy who -- when the NBA instituted its dress code -- demanded the league give him a stipend to buy dress clothes. That a man with countless millions of dollars would demand additional compensation to buy a couple suits is insulting to anyone who breathes.
Let's apply this "comparison" to that.
If your company had a casual clothing policy for your first few years, but then -- because clients would be routinely coming to the office from that point on -- they decreed that you had to dress formally 3-4 days a week, would you go to your boss and demand that they give you extra money to buy some ties? Hell no. So why should a pampered rich guy (who gets insane money just to miss 30-50 games each year) get a stipend?
This pathetic display by Camby is just one chapter in his Emo novel: "Life Is So Unfair: The Story of How No One Appreciates Me."

I think JStock hit the nail on the head. Once a whiner always a whiner. Camby is just too stupid to realize how good he has it.

I did demand that! I lost too!
