AK-Collins for Lafrenz-Pryzbilla

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Mon Jul 21, 2008 5:06 am

Would anyone here do this? I think it is a great thing for both teams. I think the Blazers would go out an sign someone like Foyle to bolster their C position a little more than Collins would. But it is a great fit for Portland, and it is a great fit cap and need wise for us. We get cap relief next year and a big, defensive shot blocker in Pryzbilla.

I also think this would mean that the Jazz should match CJ, and this move would make that decision a little easier.

Eh, I'm not for trading big names in divison trades.

I like the idea of clearing cap space by aquiring Raef's contract and getting a solid defensive big man in Pryzbilla. However, the Blazers are about the last team I'd want to trade a player of AK's caliber for spare parts to. They're in our division and they have the potential to be scary good as it is.

Eh.

I would want more in return, in the form of at least one future 1st.

But more importantly I just think that AK would be too good a fit for them. They are looking to be a team without a clear cut PG to distribute the ball, and that would allow AK more freedom to become a distributor and creator, which is what I think it will take to get him back to his previous level of play.

In theory, though, its not too bad an idea. Would never happen, though.

I have pretty much the same reaction as everyone else. The cap relief looks great until you realize that you're putting AK into a situation where his game could blow up again, and with our division rival.

Besides, do we really need 50 more Blazers fans giving the proverbial happy ending to their GM again?

It is kind of a circle guys. It is likely that if we don't send out AK for a defensive center and cap relief we will likely lose CJ and either Booz or Memo, and Millsap. We are in a championship contending range for the next five years, but not without Boozer (who could bolt if we can't pay enough), and not without good bench players whom we can't afford without dropping Ak (Millsap and CJ), and not without a defensive center. Sure Ak would be great for Portland, but he will not make them a finalist in the west, much less a tital contender.

AK must go for a center and cap relief!

I know we have to trade AK to afford Boozer but I'm going to hate seeing us trying to play against him. Remember what Odom did to Boozer? Imagine what AK would do. There's no way I'd want to play him four times a year especially against division rivals.

Remember when Utah wouldn't trade AK for Marion? That was stupid that they didn't do that when they had the chance, but this would be grounds for firing our GM if this happened. Why would we trade a former all-star, who can still contribute, for two of the worst players in the league? Let's not forget they're also in the same division...
