Paul Millsap or..........................Carlos Boozer?

Who do you go with? Do you take the leading scorer of the team for the past two years and one of the double double machines of the NBA who doesn't play a lick of hard nose defense...........OR....Do you take the upcoming young undervalued/undersized power forward who gives you nothing less than everything he's got and can drop an occasional 20/10 game. Downside to Paul would have to be his offensive production but who knows what would happen with starter minutes.


RIGHT NOW (which is what this thread is about) I would have to take Boozer. A liability on defense yes but the way he can take over games and his low post/pick and roll skills make him too valuable to our success at this juncture in Jazz basketball.

However.......Should Paul ever develop a solid offensive game, and hit that mid range jumper more consistently, what he brings on the defensive end would make him more valuable then Booz.......and he hasn't missed a game since he's come into the league........sound like anyone you know Jazz fans?

I think defense is the most important thing in basketball, still even with that i have to pick Carlos Boozer over Paul Millsap , because in the other areas he is just way too much better than Millsap.

Millsap is overrated by a lot of jazz fans. He can be a good spark off the bench but a starter he is not. Think about all his fouls , think about his dramatic lack of size which hurts him on the defensive board and on defense, etc...

i LOVE millsap , but give me Boozer anytime. The only chance we have to win the championship with Millsap starting at the 4 is if our center is a dominant , all star center.
With Boozer we can win a championship with "only" a good defensive center (guys like Perkins could do it).

Boozer is better right now , and he will always be better in my mind.


Actually i was disappointed by Millsap in the last playoffs. He really didn't have that much of an impact (except for one or two games). He was dead last on the team in the +/- statistics (!!) and clearly in the Lakers series he was a no show on the road.
I remember before game 5 the broadcasters were asking if the Jazz bench would be able to step up and help utah get a huge win on the road , i was like "hell yeah , we got millsap" . Well he didn't turn out that well.

Well, I mean, by adding "right now," you leave no room for discussion, really. It's Boozer by about a hundred miles. In the future, it's probably still Boozer, but there's at least a sliver of doubt.
