"So far, the Bulls haven’t returned to that $57.5 million figure and the sides have remained significantly apart. If the Bulls believe Deng is serious about leaving next year, they may have no choice but to broker a sign-and-trade with one of the numerous suitors around the league. The Utah Jazz and Miami Heat are expected to be two of the most aggressive pursuers"

I think Deng is a pefect fit for the Jazz, especially if they were able to move AK for him. He's got a great mid range game, and he's a very solid defender. I'd be thrilled if we were able to get him.

That is kind of surprising...

I would only want him if we could move Ak in the process. It would be nice for Miami to get him, that way they are more likely to keep their grubby paws off Boozer.

We cant afford to trade AK-47 if Boozer and Memo are out big guys. AK-47 is the only shot blocker. We would need to trade either Boozer or Okur and move AK-47 to PF if acquiring Deng. I would do it but I can see Jazz trading Deng for AK-47....terrible trade as Jazz defense gets worse.

I can see your reasoning, but I disagree. The last 2 years, AK has basically stopped defending the post. Just look at his shot blocking totals. They aren't anywhere near what they used to be. In the curent jazz scheme, AK has been relegated to the role of a wing defender, something, that Deng may be arguably better at anyway. Given the current jazz roster and system, Deng may actually make the Jazz a better defensive team. The upside to adding Deng, is that it will space the floor better on offense so teams would have to respect his jumper; something LAL exploited to the nth degree in the playoffs against us.

As far as Boozer and Okur go, I think one of them needs to go, regardless of what happens on the wings. Thats a combo that just doesn't mesh on defense. I would personally like to see a deal that moves Okur back to PF and moves Boozer for a center (Okafor anyone?)

Jazz would be better with Deng instead of AK, even if that means no shot blocking.

Deng is more consistent offensively and a bertter on-ball defender than AK. Ak is funnier.

I think even though we would be losing AK's weak side defense, if the Bulls were willing to make this trade we would be crazy not to make it. I mean, AK's contract really puts us in a bind. By being able to unload it and receive value such a promising SF like Deng, it would not only help us in the signing Boozer and Okur next year but also re-signing role players such as Millsap, Brewer, KK, etc.

Deng could be an awesome fit with the Jazz, and Bulls would prefer to trade him West methinks. I just don't see how it can be done though, but if someone can find a way to trade for Deng while parting ways with AK, this guy is KOC.

If we could trade AK and get Deng, I think we'd have to do it. I love how unique, talented and versatile AK is, I think it's a tragedy the way his production has tailed off over the last few years and I think he could he get back to producing at a near all-star level and once again provide top notch shot-blocking and help defense if he were more involved on offense and positioned closer to the basket on defense.
All that being said, Deng is younger, would be a better fit and a better small forward for this team. He's a better scorer who would fit very well in the Jazz's offensive schemes and, with Deron feeding him, could easily score 18-20 points per game while shooting above 50% from the field. He's a very smart player, he doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective, he takes good shots, he's very efficient and he can pass the ball. Also, while he certainly wouldn't be able to replace AK's shotblocking, he's got very good length and athleticism and can defend pretty well and rebound the ball.
I'd do that trade in a second, but a couple more pieces would have to be added to make it work financially.

If the Bulls would do AK for Deng (that would be a fair strange decision by them), then I'd be all over it. Deng has a polished offensive game, and while not a shot-blocking threat, is a decent enough defender that the loss of Kirilenko 2008 would be negligible.

i'd rather see a booz for Dend w/AK as our PF.....I still think AK can be good for us as a 4....i like Booz as well but would rather keep AK & Okur than him....

Drink up my friend i think KOC is going to make this team a real contender this year! This might be a year we never forget!By the way it looks like Deng is the next person to run to Europe.

I'd be astonished to see Deng leave for Europe. An obnoxious off-season for such moves, though.
