Who are the Jazz best all around players on their current roster? Lets leave it to the top seven using ability to (1) Score (2) Pass (3) Rebounding (4) Dribbling and (5) defense

(1) Williams (By far--only defense an issue)
(2) Ak-47 (turnovers from passing and inconsistent scorer)
(3) Brewer (inconsistent scorer and bad passer)
(4) Memo (Improved last year in weak catagories then saw scoring go down)
(5) Boozer (no defense, poor passer, and little dribbling skills but he can score alot)
(6) Milsap (no dribbling skills at all and inconsistent scorer)
(7) Miles (capable in all areas if he wants to be great)

Others left out korver (1 trick pony who can only streak shoot); almond (see Korver); others not worth mentioning

Thus an issue, Jazz lack all around players (Lakers have Kobe, Odom, and Gasol) (Spurs have their big three) and (Celtics have their 3 amigos). Trade Boozer for an all around small forward like Deng, Marion etc. and get rid of Korver or Almond as they duplicate each other.

Deron is good on the ball D, he just doesn't rack up the defensive stats.

All-around has to go to AK. He's tall, rebounds, can shoot, is a good passer, good ball handler, quick, smart, can score down low...

He's easily a top 10 talent in the league with Kobe, LeBron, Wade, etc. etc.

His mental fragility is his biggest weakness, and it's what makes Deron, Boozer and now Okur better players then he is.

Deron and AK definitely rank atop the list. Deron doesn't really have any weaknesses, although his D, while certainly not bad, could improve, and, like Batronuj said, AK's only glaring weakness is a mental one. I think that C.J. could be pretty high up on the list if he gets minutes. He can shoot, he can handle, he can pass, he's athletic, he can create his own shot, he can finish, he's a decent rebounder and he's got good defensive potential. Brewer's also got good all-around skills, although his shooting hurts him some. However, he's definitely not a bad passer. He played quite a bit of PG in college, but hasn't had much of an opportunity to show those skills here.

Lol, how in the world is CJ Miles better than Korver or Harpring? He had a short stretch of decent games, and two great games in his career, but beyond that he's been terrible.

Harpring's really strong, tough and physical, he can rebound, he's got a solid post up game, he fits Sloan's system, he does a great job getting open within our offense and he's pretty good at hitting jumpers off of curls. All of those things make him a solid reserve in spite of his glaring deficiencies in other areas. That being said, even though Miles hasn't really gotten enough minutes to irrefutably prove himself to be a player in this league as Harpring has, there's no question he's a more talented all-around player. In terms of raw--albeit somewhat unproven--talent and potential, I'd rank him ahead of Korver as well.

Exactly, and that's why I think the Jazz kept him around.

You don't find a ton of players who can shoot the three, drive, dunk, has a midrange game, can pass, dribble and play defense, all at the age of 21. He's also shown to be a good rebounder and even a promising shot blocker.

I'm glad the Jazz matched his offer seeing that his ceiling is very high for a reasonable price.

If it were based upon potential I would put CJ onto the list, but if your saying who are the best players, then it's a no. Here is how I rank them:

Deron- great scorer and passer. His defense isn't great, but it isn't aweful either. Could stand to improve his free throw percentage and reduce turnovers.

Andrei- best passing small forward in the nba, best help defender in the nba, good scorer, great length and height, like everyone says though, mental toughness is an issue.

Boozer- Great scorer, decent rebounder. Needs to learn positioning on defense, other than that he does pretty well. Fans would like to see more effort, I just want to see his basketball IQ improve.

Memo- Great scorer when he is on, best shooting big-man in the nba, I would even venture to say he is as good as Dirk at scoring. Durable. Could work on his positioning on defense. Offensive selection is sometimes questionable, but he is generally an unselfish player.

The top four is pretty much obviouse, but the next three are where we are going to have some questions....

Brewer- Great athlete, decent defender who plays the lane well. Needs to work on rotations, and positioning, free throw shooting is sometimes abysmal. Bad three point shooter.

Millsap- Good scorer on some nights, always puts forth the effort, great rebounder. Short, very inconsistant, needs work on free throws.

Harpring- Tough, smart, good scorer off of the curl. Free throw shooting is inconsistant, knees are bad, slow lateral movement, bad foot speed.

After that I have Korver, Miles, Knight, Price, Koufos, Almond, and Fess.

Thus an issue, Jazz lack all around players (Lakers have Kobe, Odom, and Gasol) (Spurs have their big three) and (Celtics have their 3 amigos). Trade Boozer for an all around small forward like Deng, Marion etc. and get rid of Korver or Almond as they duplicate each other.

Deron and Andrie aren't all around players? Am I missing something? Gasol isn't an all around player, I would take Boozer over him any day of the week, and I bet most Laker fans would too. And Odom? Please... Odom might be a good player, but he isn't an all around player, he's an awefull defender, and he will never be able to lead a team; every great player on the Jazz however has led a team to success, AK led Russia to the Olympics in a huge upset over Spain where he absolutly spanked Gasol, Boozer led Duke to a National Championship, and Deron has led every team he has ever been on. Ray Allen is a legendary one trick pony, and Parker isn't nearly as good as Deron. Also don't get me started on Ginobili, he is sooo overvalued it isn't even funny. Stats don't tell the entire story, success does. Last I checked the only team that had any success this year was the Celtics. The Lakers got spanked when they met them, and the Spurs De-improved. Really the only threats to us next year are the Lakeshow, and Celts, and if we can get all of our players playing well the Jazz will be unstoppable.

He may not be better yet, but he has already shown flashes, and he's played well enough to garner a relativly large contract. When you have someone with as much potential as Miles you have to think that they have as much value as players that are marginally better, but much older than them.

AK is easily the most well rounded, he scores, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Not to mention his overall hustle and defense is great too. There is no other player on the jazz who is near AK as far as being the best all around player, in fact I would say he is one of the best in the league. The best two players on the jazz are Boozer and DW though, they aren't as versatile as AK, but are excellent at what they do.

Very few players are as versatile or well-rounded as AK is. However, you're really selling Deron short by saying that he is simply a player who is excellent at what he does and implying that there are other areas in which he is not very good. That is true of Boozer, but not of D-Will, who has quite possibly the best all-around package of any point guard in the league.

So Ginobili leading Argentina to the Olympic title (better competition than any of the championships Deron, Ak or Booz won) means nothing?

IMO, Deron is the best player on the Jazz, but all-around it's AK.

LeBron without a doubt is the best passing small forward in the nba hes probally a top 10 passer in the league. other then that for some reason i see the utah jazz potentially winning the championship this year its just a hunch and this is coming from a non jazz fan. well they are not my favorite team but i do enjoy watching them lets just say that.
