Why is it that the teams that I hate always seem to get the best deals?

My most hated player on my most hated team.
Honestly, this really doesn't scare me at all.

LOL, I'm not even worried. He could easily blow up that locker room.. And you're basically gonna get the AK effect by Ron Ron, he is going to have to differ to Mcgrady AND Yao. Also they're gonna have to play 3 SF's at the 2,3,4.

I can't wait until Yao or McGrady goes down. Then it turns into a patented Ron Artest freak show.
Alston, Artest, and Francis? Why not take on Marbury and Randolph?
This is the perfect team for him to go too. The Rockets have always been mentally weak, Artest just adds to this.
Had he gone to the Lakers or the Spurs that could have changed him, but the Rockets are a laughing stock, and Artest just adds to their misery.
Throw the good will and manner of Yao and Battier out, here comes trouble.

The Rockets just got really interesting. But more combustible.
If I were the Rockets I dont know that I would add a piece that could make the "Rocket" (come on!) blow up. So now:
A) If Yao goes down, they are done.
B) If TMac goes down, they are done.
C) When RonRon decides he cant hold it in no more and he goes nuts, they are done.

Exactly, they are walking on eggshells as it is, and then to add Ron Ron.
That's like having Gasoline and a bunch of dry weeds, then trading for matches.

Hope it's in the playoffs again, make it a trifecta. I would love for the Jazz to send the Rockets crappy asses back home knowing their little Artest experiment made them even worse then before.
That is if you guys make the playoffs.

Maybe you'll have a chance, although I doubt our starting center and PG are injured again if we meet in the playoffs. And even if they are, we'll still win. I mean, we did take you to six games with practically nothing, so be honest with yourselves.
But seriously, good luck this season. Hopefully you can avoid us in the first round.

Rockets best defensive team in the league. This is my favorites in the West.
#1: Lakers (everyones favorite but not a huge favorite
#2: Rockets (Artest will make a difference in his contract year)
#3: Utah Jazz (Young guys mature into real title contenders--play some defense please)
#4: Spurs (starting to age as Duncan and Ginobili on the decline)
#5: Mavs: (playoff team but not a title contender)
#6: Blazers: (Team o the future could win a couple o championships in next 5 years)
#7: Warriors: (will be better than people think as Baron Davis is over-rated)
#8: Suns: (old and done--may miss the playoffs
#9: Nuggets: (Will miss Camby alot)

How did Yao guarding Boozer go again...oh wait.
I kinda wish Yao was there last season your defense would have been much worse. All Rox fans are good at is making excuses.
This sounds a lot like last yr when you loaded up with Bonzi Wells, Steve Francis, Luis Scola etc.

ZOMG!
This is unbelievable. I'm scared (a little bit). Rockets is a good defensive team and now they get Ron Artest? My god... We need some defensive help!

It's like giving a guy with two bad legs cancer, and thinking that will make the guy feel better.
I mean at your two broken legs won't be your biggest concern anymore.

I think this is a good trade for the rockets, Ron Ron is combustible, but when his head is on straight, he is a scary player who can excel offensively and defensively. Rockets gave up nothing to get him too. They are a terrifying team (defensively). I have always like McGrady and Yao, so hopefully they can make it past the 1st round (obviously not at the expense of the jazz).

Not sure how to read this one, but you guys are being ridiculously nonchalant about this, I do know that.
Artest is still a top notch defensive player and if he gets his head right for a full season (and a contract year is as good a time as any to do so) he could put this team over the top.
There are some concerns, like the fact that they really can't afford to play a Battier/TMac/Artest lineup all at the same time (none are good enough rebounders, and would be overmatched against most PFs in the West). There is also some concern, in my mind, about whether or not Artest will be a ball stopper in Adelman's scheme that is based upon ball movement and unselfish play.
Still, all told, the Rockets needed a 3rd scorer to take some of the load off of Yao and Mac. This does that.
If he doesn't freak out and kill the team, this move makes them legit.

If it all works out it's a great trade, if Yao, McGrady and Artest play 75 games and Artest doesn't go insane they will be good team.
Very good defensively, not great offensively, especially with Alston still at the PG.
The problem is, the most games Artest has ever played in one season is 73, then mix in the fact that in the past 4 years he's only played more then 60 games once.
Then mix in Yao hasn't played more then 60 games since 04-05, and McGrady's lingering health problems...
Too much to hope doesn't happen for me to really believe in this team. Then you mix in the fact that Ron is insane, and now he will really be in the spotlight. I don't know, just seems fake to me.

I for one am a little more worried about the Rockets than I was. Ron is going to the best team he's ever played for (he tends to get out of control when he's losing and gets frustrated), and under his favourite coach. He's also in a contract year...the stars are aligned for him to behave and play well.
Anything can happen, of course, but I think the Rockets just got better.

Good points, but even with their injuries they finished with one of the top 5 records in the west, which is quite an accomplishment. IF Ron can remain sane, the rockets will be very dangerous.
