Let me know what you think. I'm a Nets/Mavs fan, btw, so there's no partiality here.

I would lump this into the "doesn't solve the problem" category as far as a trade from Utah's perspective.
- Utah will need the cap relief next summer (Deron's extension kicks in, Boozer, Memo, Korver opt out). Morrison makes $4.2 this year and has a team option for the final year of his deal next season at $5.3. This could in theory be an expiring deal but was pitched as the replacement for AK. Thomas makes $6.9 this year and has a player option for $7.4 next season (problematic if he picks up the option). Daniels runs $6.2 this year and $6.6 next season (again--problematic). So the cap relief comes a year early on AK's deal but 1 year too late to be beneficial.

- Morrison missed all last season with a torn ACL. It would be very not good to try and throw him in to replace AK. And in comparing Morrison's 06-07 stats to what AK put up last year, AK is better in every statistical category but one--points per game--where Morrison had 11.8 and AK had 11.0. AK only had 1 more minute per game so the comparison should be fair. I'd stick with AK.
