The Utah Jazz today announced the team will institute a new variable pricing plan for tickets beginning with the upcoming 2008-09 season.

In the new plan, tickets in various sections will have three different prices: a regular individual game price; a discounted season ticket holder price; and a premium price. The following 10 games have been chosen as premium games this season: November 28 vs. Sacramento; November 29 vs. New Jersey; December 3 vs. Miami; December 26 vs. Dallas; January 24 vs. Cleveland; February 11 vs. L.A. Lakers; February 19 vs. Boston; February 21 vs. New Orleans; March 6 vs. Denver and March 28 vs. Phoenix.

Not a surprise. Lots of teams do this in various sports... I am a little surprised at what teams are the "premium" teams.

They should really float the price to ensure a full stadium IMHO.

Even if that means 5$ tickets to watch them play the Thunder on a Wednesday.

Heck, even if that means .50$ tickets. Earn your money in concessions. Keep the seats full.
