Why not trade for Vince Carter?

I'm not sure what you would have to give up, but I think you guys could use another scorer and he would make you guys even more elite.
You could package Kyle Korver and Matt Harpring along with CJ Miles for Vince Carter and that would you give you a lineup of:
PG Deron Williams/Knight/Price
SG Vince Carter/Brewer
SF AK-47/Almond
PF Boozer/Collins
C Okur/Paul Millsap
That team would be scary good.
And if not Harpring then maybe Brewer instead with a future 1st rounder

yeah the jazz would be pretty good with vinsanity.....but he wouldnt be the man in utah. he would hafta first learn to get along with the coach, and vice versa. still, he would only be 3rd fiddle at best. this is assuming the trade would go down.
cj hasta approve any trade he's involved in because of his contract that was matched. but who knows, maybe he'd appreciate a battle with yi for the 3. i dont know of very many teams who'de put up with harps contract based on what he may or may not give to them (usually may not). only kk's expiring is good usable trade bait. but if im the jazz, ide be very hesitant on trading one of our few shooters who spreads defenses. besides, we got him for nothing (giri was riding the bench....nothing) it'd be stupid to trade him away for another slasher and another 3rd option.
still, ive always liked carter, but i like the jazz more, thanks.

Apparently the Jazz turned down an AK for VC trade straight up last year.
I don't know, it's hard to say. Would having a Vince help against the Kobe's of the world in a playoff series, absolutely. And his ability to draw fouls could really help.
I'd probably go for it if the Jazz didn't have to gut their roster or get rid of a key cog, and who knows, AK coming off the bench could be just as good or better then VC.

Obviously a value trade for the Jazz, but VC seems like an addition by subtraction player for his ex teams. The kinda guy you wouldn't really want for free.

I dont think Vince would have a problem being the 2nd or 3rd fiddle. I think he wants a title and would defiantly put the jazz over the top. shame he makes around 15 a year. if he was making a little less, a trade for him could be easier. I could just imagine ak and deron tossing oops to VC. It would be nice but yeah its not going to happen without losing AK. and this Ak off the bench is looking really nice.

Vince Carter is the anti-Sloan. He's the type of guy Utah avoids like the plague. If we did trade for him, he'd quickly become Chris Morris part 2 and twice as dissappointing.

The players the jazz avoid are the cocky players who care about getting their numbers and getting a bigger contract. Vince in this stage of his career is probably most interested in a title now that he is being paid. Im not saying its a good match by any means but unless we gave up boozer or deron to get him we would be a better team IMO.

This is an interesting trade proposal, it might work. Losing Korver would hurt the most, but this trade would clear up our sg/sf log jam as CJ, Korver and Harpring are shipped out. Not a really big fan of VC, but he can still play and can go off for large amounts of points.

I think the Nets will at least have to take Millsap away from you guys.

I don't know, but I'll give it a shot...
Is it because Carter's an aging SG, whose game, along with his athleticism, is about to go down the toilet?
Is it because the Jazz offense is the best in the NBA and an isolation wing scorer is actually superfluous to Jazz needs?
Is it because, although the Jazz need better defense to win the title, Carter provides inferior defense and athleticism to the existing starting SG?
Is it because he's a choker in the clutch?
Or, is it because he's owed an incredible amount of money and time for somebody with the aforementioned limitations?
You tell me.

Okay so lets see here, Carter is old washed up and cant score anymore? he's a worse defender then Steve Nash, and apparently he is not clutch. Toronto fan back in the day perhaps? Still mad at him for leaving?
