Okur for Kaman, Kirilenko for Marion

Okur for Kaman, Kirilenko for Marion (expiring)
those two trades work financially

Clips maybe want more, so a pick or Koufos(+Fesenko?) for DeAndre Jordan could be enough.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

Wake up!
Kaman (7-0, 268) is 15 ppg, 10 rpg, 2 bpg in 35 mpg, .500 FG%, .750 FT%.
Marion (6-7, 220) is 15 ppg, 9 rpg, 2 spg in 35 mpg, .500 FG%, .800 FT%.

Both are great players, athletic fits, Kaman is long term solution.

personally, ide rather have okur than kaman. a slight dip in defense but what okur can do offensively as a center you just cant trade staight across.

as for ak for marion. well, ak is having a better year. his confidence is up. he is starting the games with a coaches point of view. is a leader on the floor again. and marion is showing this year what he can do in structured offenses. i imagine utah's dwill/boozer/okur team would lower his numbers even more.

can i say no and no?

it may sound good on the paper, but for it doesn't work - Okur has some kind a role esp. with no shooting threats (hopefully CJ will be top shooter soon) in the start.
Marion.... look at AK role from the bench and you will see how important it is.

As much as I hate AK's contract, he's a unique player for us who is delivering the goods now.

Also, Kamnan sucks, F**** that trade.

Kaman: 35.5mpg 13.9ppg 9.4rpg 1.9apg .7spg 1.9bpg 2.73to 3.2PF
Okur: 34.2 15.8ppg 7.0rpg 1.6apg 0.9spg 0.4bpg 1.77to 2.4PF

Okur's numbers are also down because he had a tough stretch in the beginning of the season between family issues and back spasms.

Okur's last 5 games: 35.8mpg 20ppg 9.2rpg 1.8apg 1.6spg .4bpg 2.0to 2.4PF shooting: .585 .556 .737

Kaman sucked alongside of Brand in the past, and he's on a team that's 3-13 and that's all he's putting up now, playing alongside a Baron Davis who doesn't seem to be happy in his current situation, averaging just 17ppg, Randolph now has 17ppg as a clipper, and Thorton has 16.6ppg. You'd think with such a bad offensive team scoring just 92ppg that he could go back to his 15.7ppg, especially since his FG% is way up, not to mention that his rebounding went down 3.3rpg as did his bpg from 2.8 to 1.9. He seems to just have lost that touch he had last season, and I think his production will drop further with Randolph on the team.

Way to inflate the numbers. I think Marion was a product of D'Antoni's system and Kaman is averaging 13.9ppg 9.4rpg 1.9bpg in 35.5mpg. The sad part is that he shoots .571 from the field and .750 from the FT line, so he should get a lot more points.

Marion isn't that great in a half court offense. We would have to switch it up a bit for him to fit in more.

Come to think about it, Williams likes to run a bit, and he's been throwing a lot of alley oops of late, but still if he was unhappy towards the end in D'Antoni's system, I don't want him here. With Boozer, Williams, and Okur, he'll be a 3rd option at the very best, and you remember what happened when he was a third option in Phoenix, Marion get mad, GRR!

I think Kaman would be a big upgrade for the jazz. Its nice to have a center who can shoot 3's, but IMHO the team needs a center who can block shots and help clog the middle. How about getting someone to take harpring off our hands? Glad we have him locked up for another year.

I want to see this team completely healthy before we make any big time trades.

thankyou.

Trade threads are typical after frustrating blowouts. And while the Jazz should still have won at home, Deron couldn't drive on/defend harris' speed with his ankle yet, kirilenko missed half the game, korver still can't catch a ball, and of course boozer, knight and harpring are out (and collins).

patience is the key right now.

Hell no hell no... AK has been our best player this year, and Okur has had some monster games since coming back. I really don't like Kaman, I think he is an average center and will find his role diminished now that Randolph went to the Clips, especially since Randolph will find plenty of time to cement himself in the lineup while Kaman heals. He is defensively better, but worse in scoring AND rebounding. HELL NO.

1) I do not propose it cause of of sudden frustration. It's long term solution: We get center who can play inside on both ends of the floor and we get cap space to re-sign Boozer and Millsap.

2) Kaman is complete center. You can see it without even looking at his stats. Okur is slow small forward or shooting guard in 6-11 body. Top teams Boston and Lakers will body up Okur with small forward and rotate their center to shut down Brewer in the paint. We get some points from Okur's shooting but we'll get screwed in final result.
I think it is similar situation with 1996 year, when the Jazz traded for Seikaly. They could reach the Finals even without him but with complete center Seikaly they would get over Bulls and create Jazz dynasty in late 90's. They missed offense from center position then, they miss defense from center position now.

3) Kirilenko's contract (16.5, 17.8 in 09/10, 10/11) basically forces Millsap or Boozer out of town and limits to attract other players. I guess it would be especially important for Millsap to see more playing time on the Jazz team without Kirilenko. Marion would be ok for the rest of the season.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

The way Kirilenko is playing right now makes him much more valuable than Marion. Not to mention Marion would not want to play in Utah especially considering what his role would be. The Kaman for Okur is a little more palatable but the Clippers don't need Okur. And our front office isn't in any hurry to get rid of Okur. You're underrating Okur, he plays exceptional defense especially against the center's we'll meet in the playoffs, he's an awesome rebounder, and causes mismatches with his offensive game.
