If one more person throws Deron under the bus...

Seriously go shoot yourself in a bathtub so we don't have to clean your pathetic mess...
OUR MVP, is playing on one ankle and came back early because of how crappy our depth was getting with all the injuries.
I'm honestly embarrassed seeing fellow Jazz fans complain about Deron's performance since he came back..

if he is on one ankle he shouldnt be playing, imo. knight and price could (or at least should) carry Utah against teams like wolves. i rather not have him on the floor than have him out there forcing through his injury.
that being say, no need to criticize him at this point, even at limited capacity he is in top 3 in APG.

^^ See I would think that too, but Knight himself has been in-and-out of the lineup as well and leaving the Jazz with just Price to run the point would be a disaster.

Deron has sucked most of the year in the first 3 qtrs of every game, but he's been clutch in the end of games.

Deron is playing hurt, and is having problems penetrating and guarding quick PGs on account of that fact. He is the best player on our team by a mile, and is the key to our franchise for the foreseeable future.
That doesn't mean he's above criticism when he makes poor decisions, I hope.

He's rusty. But even on one ankle, he is still the best player on the team. Deron is playing bad right now but i couldn't imagine how horrendous things would look like if he was in street cloths sitting next to Boozer....

Are you serious? Why can't criticize him? He's just like any other player. If he's not having a good game, I will say he's not doing well. Should we just give him a free pass because he's hurt? He says he wants to be the leader of this team. He's making max money. It's our obligation to demand a lot from him. If any other player was playing hurt and playing like crap, would you give him a free pass?

A friendly request to keep this thread about Deron, by the by, and whether recent criticism of him is fair or not fair. Let's not get personal here, please.

I dont think anything outside of his offense has to do with ankle. He is mentally missing something, he needs to do some soul searching.
Also anything said about Deron is no worse then what is sad about Boozer on a nightly basis. Deron needs to sack up.

I don't really agree, and I'm sure Deron would be the first to agree with me. He doesn't play games in after game interviews about what is going on, he is straight up about what he is doing wrong, and that is why I think he will work through this tough stretch just fine. He is our star, franchise player, but he isn't perfect and still has a lot to learn as a PG mostly in terms of managing his frustration and not making very poor decisions as a result of it.
Deron is my favorite NBA player. I still wouldn't take any other PG in the league today over DWill, I don't think any work harder than him. My criticism is almost more of a compliment because I've seen what he really can do and know how amazing he is, and I am simply frustrated watching him make some really poor decisions on the court.
I've been saying that this team will be very good when everyone is %100, and I still don't doubt that, but we have a lot to work on, especially turnovers and rebounding against bigger teams like tonight.

I love D-Will.. but he was EXTREMELY CRAPPY. I don't think I have seen him play a more horrendous game since his days as a rook under the the mantel of McClown and Falatio. I think even J-Fart could have played better than poor D-Will.

People take whatever is said on the game threads way too seriously. You're in the heat of the moment. You say about anything, like Harp for MVP or McLeod is better than Deron. Deron is still a great player, but he should not be above good and evil. I just don't want us Jazz fans to do the same thing Lakers fans do with Kobe, where the guy can do no wrong and is above any kind of criticism.
I also agree with Sheik. Deron's not 100%, but he's not managing very well being at 80% or so. He's constantly getting blocked, he's being careless with the ball from time to time and he's not making the best decisions on the court. He should get criticized for that, injured or not.

Exactly.. tonight Deron just played a really messy game, and it happens, and it is fine that it happens. Relax people. We are still a championship team in my mind, and Deron is still 1 or 2 PG in the league.

Meh, he's hurt and he hasn't found his jumper yet. He's still making the right plays at the end of the game when it matters the most.
He found Brewer driving for the bucket and 1, he found Korver for the tre, and he drove and dished back to Memo for the game winner. Price would have done 0 of those, so I'm happy. He'll be in a lot better shape when Booze is taking some of the pressure off. Plus having Knight back really helps.

Always gotta give Deron that...he gets it done no matter what. He has just looked very sloppy. His swagger will be back soon hopefully. We need somewhere in between Toronto and PHX.

He played bad tonight, there is no denying it. 2-11 might be his worst shooting night ever. Maybe he's had a 3-13 night before, or possibly like a 1-9, but they are very few and far between. He was lacidaisical tonight, no doubt about it.
And still, in the last 5 minutes of the game he was damn near perfect. He did all the things the Jazz needed to win the game which is the entire goal. And to be hurt, and on the road, I will take it.
Will we win a championship with him playing like this? No. But we are only 23 games into the season, he'll be fine. I honestly hope he doesn't make the all-star game, that break could really help him if his ankle still isn't 100%.

it is never good to have this kind of shooting performances, but he doesnt really need to score for Utah to win games. there are more than enough players in the roster for that purpose. as long as he takes of the ball and directs the offense as efficiently as he did last year-which i believe he will-Jazz should be fine on the offensive side.
