Hi all,

My posts don't reflect my attraction to this board......I visit 2 or 3 times a day, but please hear me out. I have been a Jazz fan as long as most of you. I started cheering for this team in 1988 when they lost 2 the Warriors 3-2 in the first round. Anyway, my point of posting is not about who is the best fan as much as all of us as a unit are terrible.

I looked at the all-star voting today and from what i can see rafer alston is in 11th place and lamar odom is in 12th, Does the state of Utah and the rest of the jazz nation really not care or is it not there? For me to vote numerous times for Deron and Carlos and for them to not show up even in the top 12 of their conference is very troubling.

I realize Salt Lake is not the largest city in the world but we have to show more interest than that. How do you think Carlos or Deron feel when they see those numbers? Lamar Odom has around 76000 votes, is there not that many people voting for Carlos.

Sorry about the long read but I reallly feel this is wrong.....I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and vote for them as much as possibvle. How can a whole state plus the others show so little interest. I just feel that there is a lack of love for a very exciting and championship caliber team.

Go Jazz Go......kick the Trailblazers right out of the best building in sports!

As long as the players actually getting in are ones that would have gotten in anyways it just means the vote is irrelevant. Fact is I voted for Ronnie Brewer over Kobe. That is just what fans do for this sort of thing. Big cities have lots of fans and foreign markets pull for bigger cities they have heard of.

No Jazz player has a chance of getting enough votes to start anyway. It's just not possible with Kobe, Melo, Yao, Duncan, and probably CP3.

My guess is Rockets' players will always get an enormous amount of votes due to the fans in China. Kinda hard to compete with them. Just look at Yi in front of Bosh and Pierce. Plus, big markets will always get a lot of votes. Just look at Marion. He's been average this season and has almost 100,000 more votes than Smith, Granger and Hedo. La players also get a lot of votes. My guess in Knicks fans really hate their players to not have even one in there.
Basically, the all star ballot is a joke, but I don't have to tell you that.

As long as the NBA all star is fan voting i'll never get interested in the all star game.

Keep in mind people, yes Chinese people vote, but Houston is a big freaking metro in a big freaking state. Houston goes on and on for miles, has no soul and is a living monument to Bush, Cheney, Rove and fossil fuel. San Antonio and Austin are so much nicer. El Paso has more charm. Dallas is better by default but I am no fan of D-FW. Haven't been to the Rio Grande Valley.

Anyways Utah has 2.75 million people. That is about as much as 1 or 2 New York Burroughs.

I am not sure that the positioning of the Jazz players in the voting is as reflective of the fans as it is of their play. I don't think we have anybody playing at an all-star level this year, for a variety of reasons.
