Rip Hamilton, Jason Maxiell 1st and T wolves 2nd for Boozer and Almond
Trade ID #4897199

With Sap and Boozer both out do you expect big mins for Koufus?

Would there be any interest for a Joe Smith for Kyle Korver trade?

No, but if you make that into a Harpring, Almond and 2nd round pick(s) for Joe Smith I think there can be some interest.

I love that trade, but there is no chance of it with Boozer unlikely to be healthy before the trade deadline. I also dont think the 1st is necessary.

Koufos should get about 12-15 mins per game.

Boozer, Harpring and Almond for McGrady and a second round pick.

Both teams get cap releif before the 2010 offseason, Houston gets a dominant low post scorer to go along with Yao, and a Yao/Boozer/Artest front line is scary. They get more good team guys, a guy from the Houston area in Almond, and they add toughness with Harpring.

The Jazz get another scorer and ball handler, and a Deron/Brewer/McGrady/Millsap/Okur line up would be a very good team.

Houston probably has no interest.

Guys, I'm not going to insult you by making offers for Boozer; suffice it to say I'd like him on the Bulls.

However, if you were to trade right now, you'd get back next to nothing. Boozer is going to opt out, and he is injured for likely the majority of the season (nobody is going to think a guy who's been known to heal slowly, is coming back from surgery any time soon). So what you are trading him for, is his bird rights. The right to pay him more than any other team.

With that in mind, nobody will trade you a player that could help them substantially more than a year from now. In terms of expectations, I think you may expect....I don't know, an expiring, and either a top 10 pick or a top 10 prospect from a previous draft.

A guy I think you should take a look at is Lamar Odom. I don't think he's available for Boozer (not with Pau, Bynum around), but perhaps in a 3-way, this could work. Maybe a Gerald Wallace for Boozer for Odom principle, something like that.

Just try to keep in mind that the Jazz are going to be heavily interested in cutting 09 salary.

While I agree with much of your post, the one thing the Jazz are NOT going to do in any Boozer trade is improve the Lakers.

Exactly what I was thinking. The Jazz are smart enough to send our talent east, as long as it's not the Knicks. What I really want is for us trade for a wing player good enough to force Sloan to play him in the fourth. I've seen way too much Harpring-Korver late in games and they make it damn near impossible to take the lead when they play together.

Do you think that a straight up Odom for Gerald Wallace swap is out of the question? I don't. I think the Bobcats may look for someone else b/c Odom is the same sort of ball-dominant tweener that Diaw is (who knows if he'll actually be moved to NY?), and they would definitely prefer Boozer. So if the Lakers are already getting Wallace, you may as well move Boozer for Odom+some incentives (picks, perhaps Felton).

An interesting consideration is simply keeping Boozer for the ensuing playoff run, and seeing if you can get it all with him. I'd be skeptical, because interior defense is still a major concern, but it isn't like Odom, or any expiring this year, is likely to help with that.

i think JO would be a good fit for this team but his injury issues are concern, maybe if raptors sweeten the deal.

Tyrus Thomas and Gooden for Boozer.

1 yr remaining in Tyrus and nothing for Gooden which gives you flexibility plus potential in Tyrus and decent low post presence in Gooden.
