Road trip warriors needed!

Post#1 » by HammerDunk » Tue Dec 16, 2008 8:58 am

I would really like to see Memo and AK step it up on this road trip. AK had an absolutely incredible start to the year, playing like he did when he was first a Jazz man. He has since fallen off since his short stay on the injured list, and we desperately need his production of mixed bag stats and stingy defense to come back for this roady so we can have a good record heading into the new year.

Likewise Memo has had a difficult time finding some consistency in Boozer's absence. In a time when he should be shining pretty bright on this team, he is being dimmed by Millsap in every aspect of the game. He had a couple good games that helped us win, but has been heavily responsible for the last 2 close(ish) losses. I think he really needs to step it up now and for the rest of the season to prove his value as a Jazzman, which is quickly plummeting. If not, let's trade the big guy.

I'm starting to wonder if having Boozer come back will help us that much right now. Millsap is on a tear that few PF are matching right now, but I would love to have more rebounding, Okur just isn't doing his part in that category. How in God's name did Rondo get 9 rebounds tonight???

Deron is getting better, but seems to have more mental problems since coming back. I have seen him much more visibly frustrated, likely due to not being able to completely do what he wants, or at least do it as fast as he wants. His passing is still solid, but the turnovers are starting to get ridiculous. I hope he finds some focus on this trip.

I absolutely love the play of Sap lately. He has played like a franchise player worth millions. He is definitely the most underpaid player atm. But, him starting has shown some of his limitations as a PF in this league, due to his size. He works hard to overcome these problems, so they aren't major, but it is an issue when we don't have anyone to help him get rebounds and defend longer Forwards and Centers. He is still a lot of fun to watch and is putting up massive numbers.

Lastly, why does Sloan find it obligatory to give Harpring minutes that he doesn't need? Almond didn't play at all tonight, and I'm not sure why since he has been playing well and contributing more than Matt. I think his time is done for this team, he is just slow and not making his shots like he should. I appreciate his toughness, but I am struggling to understand why he has such a role on this team.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...
