So I think the timetable for his return would be late February or March.

I can't say that I'm surprised, and I think that it's probably 50/50 that we don't see him in a Jazz uni the rest of the season, and probably 75/25 that we don't see him in a Jazz uniform ever again. It's really a shame, but the Jazz are learning to live without Boozer, and we weren't going to be able to afford him next year anyway. Milsap isn't the same offensively as Boozer is, but the Jazz don't need him to be.

If Kosta and Fes can develop any further, we'll have plenty of frontcourt depth. What stinks about all of this is that assures we won't be able to find any trade value for Carlos coming up against the trade deadline and I don't think that the Jazz are willing to do a sign and trade this summer given how much salary we'd have to bring back.

Thanks Carlos for the one good playoff run, and enjoy your last winter in cold and snowy SLC...

Damn is he still milking his injury? With Deron playing better again, I thought he would recover soon and put up his 20/10 as he is looking for a new contract...

I blew out my back at work several years ago, I knew within a week what was wrong.
I was back to work after surgery in 6 weeks.
total time was about 7 weeks.
It has taken this fool that long just to figure out that he is injured.
That my friends is a load of crap.

Stinks that we are really going to have pay up big bucks for Millsap.

So... Just exploratory surgery or are they fixing something?

I had no idea so many doctors with access to Boozer's charts are posters here at RGM, but really isn't that a violation of HIPAA laws?

Booz is not faking this injury. I am just dissapointed that the surgury didnt happen a month ago. Now Why cant the surgury happen tomorrow. Not on the 9th in 10 more days. Pay the doctors some overtime and make it happen. So I predict we see boozer at the end of feb, if they only find loose particles and are able to clean the knee out.
I never believed that booz is faking it. It is a contract year. He was playing great.

Give up on the notion of a sign and trade. It was not going to happen any how. Utah will not go over the salary cap. Somebody will not be back next season. We wont go sign more players in a trade.

Mabey, this will make carlos realize that he should not opt out yet due to his health this season. This could be a bonus for us. And in 2010 their is going to be alot of teams that end up with alot of money to spend after lebron decides where to go.

sounds like they're just taking out some loose bodies/cartilage that are probably causing inflammation....

Los Angeles-based orthopedic specialist Dr. Richard Ferkel will perform the surgery.

"What they're suspecting is that he's got some loose particles in there that are settling in the joint," Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor said.

A timetable for Boozer's continued absence will not be released until sometime after the surgery, though O'Connor said he expects Boozer to be out at least another month.

I think its pretty stupid of anyone to say he is faking it or that he waited this long. Nobody wants surgery...especially in your "contract year." As for taking him this long it has only been in the last little bit that the inflammation has gotten really bad.

As someone mentioned earlier the biggest downfall is the price for Millsap is going to go up now.

yea. i take back what i said about millsap (very) early in the season....something like he shouldn't get a contract worth too much more than maxiell (they had averaged similar numbers and were similar players to that point in their careers).

averaging 18/11 from mid-november until at least march. that'll get you paid in this league. no question. kenyon martin got 90 million in '04 doing basically that (minus a couple boards, but playing better d). zach randolph too (around 20/10). kaman got 5 years, 53 million for 12/10. if millsap keeps putting up numbers and has a halfway decent agent, that pricetag will be a high one.

I agree with you 100% Sheik.. Everyone has been down hard on Boozer calling him a wimp, etc. Fact is, he's injured, this MRI showed the problems and they are going to have surgery to repair the problems. Give up the Boozer hate wagon now everyone please. I think if he could have been playing, he would have. Playing as it is on that knee could have caused even more problems and caused an even longer time table. Since this is only removal of spurs/tissue, the timetable for him being back is actually good. I would imagine he missed another 5 weeks total.

Get well soon Booz, we'll need you for the stretch run..

Glad he's waiting 10 days to do it. That way he can return right before the playoffs, play only a few games and get a big contract off of it.

Hopefully Sloan brings him off the bench for the rest of the season.

You (and some other Jazz fans) act like getting knee surgery is like ordering a Big Mac at McDonalds.

I'm sure the date when they could operate on Boozer isn't in his hands. Get well soon Booz.

He isnt getting the surgery till the 9th because he has an open wound around his knee and they want it to heal 100% before they operate to reduce the chance of infection.

So he's not faking or milking the injury. I still want a PF that isn't going to be missing a large chunk of every season as Boozer has done here in Utah, minus 1, and that is Millsap! Boozer has earned his max contract and knows it, Sap is still in the process and is still working to prove he deserves it, and he is working hard. I really hope Boozer walks because I know he won't be traded...

I wish Boozer the best, and I hope he doesn't return next season. Millsap will never be the polished offensive player that Boozer is, but at least he'll be on the floor.
