A retransmission agreement between DIRECTV, a national satellite TV provider, and KJZZ-TV, a local independent TV station that carries the Jazz basketball games, local sports and syndicated programming, will be suspended at midnight tonight.

This sucks!! DIRECTV subscribers need to call and complain about this BS!!

Ouch.. And I thought we had it bad as Comcrap subscribers. I was actually thinking of dropping them in favor of DIRECTV.. Guess I'll shelf that thought.

Wow...that sucks. Still, most games are carried on FSN, not KJZZ. And for the ones carried on KJZZ, I can still catch them on League Pass.

This is bull ****, though. This needs to be stopped.

Its only 16 Jazz games, but from the sounds of the article, it will be ALL KJAZZ programming.....including Jazz games, POWERHOUSE, High School Sports, etc. I dont watch KJAZZ a lot, but as a paying customer I should at least get my local channels without having to deal with this kind of BS!

Umm...its KJZZ that's screwing you not Directv. From a business side of things for KJZZ to ask for a subscribers fee is absolutely ridiculous. If a small no name channel is trying to muscle me out of money I wouldnt pay up either.

You get blacked out in your home market. At least that what I believe.

I believe that you believe wrong.

Hear me out.

I live in Montana and have Dish Network. For the past three years, I've seen every Jazz game.

This year, we've been able to get every single NBA game EXCEPT games involving the Utah Jazz. Even though I've paid for NBA league pass, Jazz games have been blacked out and only Jazz games. In friggin' Montana. Not exactly home market. I've heard the same story from a fan north of Seattle.

At first, I called and complained as was told they were in negotiations with the NBA. A few weeks later we were told they wouldn't be carrying NBA league pass this year.

Forget about blaming dish or Direct Tv. Look around the league and try and find a similar situation with ANY OTHER TEAM.

Sorry, but the blame has to lie somewhere within the Jazz organization itself.

I wouldn't doubt if it has something to do with Larry Jr. taking over the reins, and wanting to prove he's the man or something.

How is KJZZ screwing anyone?
Why should Direct tv not pay?
Do they not charge their customers for their progamming?
Dish network and comcast pay.
Direct tv pays the other local channels.

Yeah, it's KJZZ that is trying to force DirectTV into asking their customers to pay more every month.

Why would DirectTV make customers pay for something you can get with any old TV and an antenna.

KJZZ is screwing Jazz fans left and right, first getting rid of most of the coverage of Jazz games then this.

You sure? I watched the last Jazz game on the NBA League Pass channel, not the normal channel I watch it on.

What makes me mad is that FSN is always advertising to win a HD television, but, THEY DON'T BROADCAST THE GAMES IN HD!!!!!

Man, that gets me.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Agreed on the Bolerjack/Boone combo. I actually miss the Hot Rod days now, even when he was three sheets to the wind behind the mic.

I like Boler, he gets stuck trying to cope with Booner's incoherant rambles though and it holds him back.

Wrong.

Us dish network customers have missed most of the first half of the season.

Maybe not everyone, but I live in Montana and I've been told from a fan from north of Seattle that Jazz fans in the northwest part of the country were blacked out until about a week ago.

NO OTHER TEAM in the country is having issues like this with NBA league pass.

The Jazz organization is to blame, IMO, and I don't think it's a coincidence that Larry turned it over to his son this year.

As far as I'm concerned, Larry junior(or whatever his name is) is the **** to blame behind this bull, and until we get an official statement from the Jazz organization, I can't help but think they have no problem with Jazz fans being the only ones in the NBA having this problem.

Dear Utah Jazz, thank you for making sure Jazz fans outside of Utah have no chance of watching the games.

Go **** yourselves.

I'm pretty sure they will just show the games on the opposing team's channel.

I believe you are correct. When I live in Chicago I have league pass and Im pretty sure they never showed KJZZ broadcasts, only the FSN Utah ones.

Return to Utah Jazz
