Two interesting notes on current and former Jazz players:

Koufos's PER rating is higher than that of Greg Oden per the following ranking: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinge ... asonType=2

Kosta is also the fifth-highest rated rookie from last year's class. Whether you buy into Hollinger's rankings or analysis or not, this is a great reflection on what turned out to be a very fortunate pick by the Jazz.

Also, Dee Brown was released by the Suns today. Given that anybody would be better than Dragic, the current backup PG in Phoenix, it really makes you wonder what causes teams (Utah, Washington, Phoenix) decide that this is not a guy they want in their lockerroom.

I think Dee is probably just not good enough. I don't think he has an epically poor personality and that's why he won't stick. He might find a spot like Earl Boykins or Carlos Arroyo did some day and stick a season or two.

I'd fully take Brown over Price right now, I think Brevin would be the perfect mentor for Dee and Dwill would have another best friend on his team thus making him more invested in the team.

Koufos was a steal. The guy is only 19 and have big body and he is right now producing. He ig gonna be our center for years.
We are lucky that he and Memo and Millsap can coexist, because Memo y Koufos can play both positions, PF/C so they can back up Millsap and play together.

Hopefully he can make it into the Rookie/Sophmore game...small chance.

I hope Dee can make it into the league. And I would have to say his attitude is probably the last reason people would be cutting him. From all accounts it seemed like everyone liked him. He needs to develop a persona on the floor that makes teams want to have him.

He has the speed and the heart to be a lockdown defender, he just hasn't developed that yet. If he does that he could find a place in the league.

I don't see any reason why Dee can't, at the very least, hang around as a third-string PG. Great speed, great attitude, and all kinds of heart.

yeah, I don't think it has anything to do with attitude or work-ethic at all

personally, while I have absolutely no basis for this, I wonder if perhaps he (and/or his agent) wants too much in contract guarantees for the production he's demonstrated

I wonder what would have happened if he had signed the non-guaranteed contract the Jazz offered after his first season - - iirc, they didn't pick up Knight and Price until fairly late in the process when it was obvious Dee was not going to sign - - perhaps had he signed that contract, he might have stuck for the season. I could be way off-base, but that's just my feeling.

Koufos is the real deal entirely - I was hoping he'd end up on the Jazz. I wish him well, he's doing a good job so far.
