Melo sidelined 3 weeks

Post#1 » by jazzfan1971 » Tue Jan 6, 2009 11:29 pm

With Melo out 3 weeks it's important that the Jazz make a strong push to get atop the Division.

I don't know what else they can do right now though. Maybe play CJ less? Maybe he just focuses more on defense and where he's supposed to be on the floor and what he's supposed to be doing.

Your thoughts on the next 3 weeks?

We definitely have to make a push right now. If we have a hope of salvaging this season, this is the time. Regarding CJ, I've been pretty dissatisfied with him lately. The guy proved he had the goods earlier this year, so I'm not sure to what he owes his present rut.

And I wish Melo a full and speedy recovery. I hate the guy, but you never like to see anyone get hurt.

I definitely think Sloans rotation from the Warriors game needs to stay in tact and perhaps he needs to look at bringing AK and Korver in at the same time or Kosta and AK while Paul and CJ rest and then start the 2nd with Kosta, Sap, AK, Korver and Knight. Either way I think Kosta and Korver should get an increase in minutes and CJ get less. At this point I can live with Korver shooting poorly from the field because he rebounds better and is a better defender then CJ (granted he makes dumb mistakes to, but not at CJs level right now).

If Korver struggles or AK nedds rest you can bring Brewer back in or even CJ.

I just think its important to stay away from the Sap, AK, Matt frontcourt and stick to the 9-man rotation we have right now. We dont need to match up with smaller teams. Exploit the mismatches on offense and I think Millsap can hold his own against the finesse 4s.

Yeah, with Melo and Brandon Roy hurt the Jazz should try to make their push right now. Denver has a slew of home games coming up but they are against the likes of Detroit, Dallas and Orlando, no gimmies.

Hopefully they can drop a few and the Jazz can pick up a few and find themselves neck and neck or with a clear lead by months end.

When I first read the title I thought it said Memo instead of Melo.

Please don't ever do that to me again.
