Jazz future in Utah?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Tue Jan 13, 2009 6:01 pm

Since Larry Miller looking pretty ill and with his son alot more financially oriented, Is the Jazz future in Utah, Las Vegas, Seattle? or somewhere else.

Lets face it Larry Miller not the riches of owners and now that Toyota not selling like before, can Larry Miller (mainly his son) afford to keep the Jazz in Utah? D-Will makes a ton next year with Ak-47. Memo, Millsap, & Loser (Boozer) likely to make alot more money so can he sign these players and keep them in Utah where attendance is down?

One of two things will happen: (1) He moves the team to Seattle or Las Vegas or (2) much more likely he guts he team financially allowing Memo and Boozer to leave keeping Millsap. Ak-47 leaves when his contract is up then team starts missing the playoffs with D-Will being the only star player. D-Will requests a trade in 2-3 years. The only saving grace could be the NYKnicks pick if that turns outs to be a top 3 pick and another star big man (Dwight Howard type).

Unfotunately not a bright future so enjoy this year as it may be the last year the Jazz have any opportunity to win it all.

Yes, they will stay in the fastest growing state with the lowest unemployment rate.

Are you freaking kidding me with this BS rubbish? Do you have any idea how successful this team has been here in Utah, especially in much lesser times for the state? Do you honestly think it would be more successful in NV or WA? How does your brain work? Does it work? Wow, you are a mystery...

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

People tend to forget the obvious.
The thread should have been closed after your post; not really anything left to say.

There actually is one more thing to say.

The Jazz are annually right in the middle of the league in revenue, gross and net profit. Despite this being such a "small market", we generate more income than teams from much larger cities.

The Jazz are in no way in danger of going belly up.

Now, we can't afford to pay 10 or 15 million in luxury tax, but then there are only about 5-8 teams in the league that can do so, anyway. That isn't anything special.

And Seattle and Las Vegas won't be able to make more money than here, especially Vegas. They is in a world of hurt right now.

Actually I think you're wrong Delaney, Seattle has proven in past years to be a very solid place for an NBA team.

But no team would move there without a new arena in place...or at least a deal to get a new one secured before the move. Both of which are--while not impossible--extremely unlikely.

The only team that is in any danger of a move right now is the Kings, and that would be a travesty as the fans are super supportive.
