Trade Jazz-GSW?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Wed Jan 14, 2009 7:03 pm

Here is a trade that makes Jazz better while getting something for Boozer while GSW get a salary dump and a great future #1 pick and cap space for future free agents. I think GSW do this trade but Jazz may decline bc of future salary cap issues.

Jazz Get: Monta Ellis, Belinelli, Maggette
GSW Get: Boozer, Harpring, Almond & future #1 pick likely NYK pick

Jazz lineup:
PG Williams Knight Price
SG Ellis Brewer Miles Korver
C Memo Kosta Fess Collins
SF Maggette AK-47 Brewer Belinelli
PF Millsap AK-47
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

For one thing, the chances of that pick being #1 is very small. So don't say it is likely.

Second, the Jazz get so much money in contracts back that is nearly impossible to resign Millsap, and then your stuck with a strange group of players that really aren't going to mesh together.

This is a terrible trade.

And, for the umpty-kajillionth time, the Jazz cannot trade the Knicks' pick until we're sure Minnesota doesn't get it. That means we can't trade it until the off-season at the EARLIEST.

Is there a way we could include Cleveland to get Wally Szczerbiak as well?

Fantastic.

Future Check List For ALL JAZZ Board Trades:

- AK and/or Boozer must be going out
- Corey Maggette must be a target
- Wally Szcerbiak must be involved
- Must make no sense and in no way benefit the Jazz (and preferably not the other team as well, but this is up to the individual's discretion)
- Must negatively impact our future cap position

Let's see on this one....

He was so close. Almost the perfect trade.

GS would laugh in our face....plus salary wouldn't work because I think Maggette & Monta are both making 10+

warriors wouldnt do this garbage trade right now but even if warriors wanted to do this, i dont see utah doing this trade until the off season to see how monta plays after the injury. if monta plays like himself or close to it, warriors won't do this garbage trade and warriors can still void monta's contract if he sucks. belinelli has played amazing since getting consistent minutes for the first time in his career. he's injured now but is a player that you'd want to keep in rebuilding mode.

warriors want to move maggette but not giving up the future just to get rid of him. maggette will be our 6th man once everyones healthy and is even preparing for monta's return as our current 6th man. he seems to be fitting well there so as long as he does well in his new role i wouldnt trade him unless warriors get useful player(s) without horrible contracts and without giving up the future. warriors future=turiaf, andris, monta(if close to himself or better), randolph, wright, belinelli

loserX,
Nothing to do with this trade, but couldn't you 'legal-lingo' a trade to include either the 2010 Knick pick or the 2010 Jazz pick, best of which is available? Just wondering.
